[Mk2] [NA] Refitting Driveshaft

Post by Stefen »

I'm just trying to refit a driveshaft but it doesn't seem to want to go in.

I'm hitting it with a hammer on the inner part, and was wondering is it okay to hit it at the hub end or will it damage something?

Any tips for doing this? Is replacement of the spring clip a good idea? Some grease?

Yes , giving it a good boot with both feet worked for me too , make sure the gap in the snap-ring is at the bottom as it makes it slightly easier .
Try putting a glob of grease on the snap ring to stop it spinning round into the wrong position .
