[Mk2] [SC] whitish smoke after warm on idle

as it says after the car warms up and i drive it ussually hard then stop at idle it smoke quite abit but doesnt seem to be smoking near as bad or barley at all wen driving?? any body have theis problem or no wat could cause the problem?

Are you sure? If you mean "turbo" then I think your turbo is dead...

humm this was happening to me, i have a rev1 turbo, it turned out the charge cooler pump was not working, so all the hot turbo gasses were just going into the inlet manifold, i fixed the pump and it has stopped.

A chargecooler is an addon standard Mr2 tubbies came with a IC.

I get a little mist of smoke when i floor it.. it isn't really anything to worry about.

If your getting lots of smoke then you need to worry.

Its normaly built up condensation evaperating in the exhaust or the headgasket leaking coolent, depends to what extent the white smoke is? Does it smell?

Be good to do a compression test. Could be head gasket on way out. Admitadley not the cheapest job in the world.

Compression test should show major difference in pressure in each bore. Get a kit from halfords for about 15 quid or go down to your local garage and get them to do a compression and leak down test for you. Shouldnt cost much as wont take long.

Are you getting through coolant? Is your temp needle doing anything abnormal? Running high etc?
