Any chance someone (not me because I'm hopeless ) could make up a nice downloadable flier for the club, to be held on the site?

That way people could print a couple off to keep in the car and tuck under the wipers of MR2's spotted parked up etc?

Or possibly word pad as not everyone will have microsoft office? Don't know the ins and outs of it, so I'll leave that to someone who knows a little more about those matters than me (not very difficult to be honest lol)

PDF please. At least that's platform independent and doesn't need expensive proprietary software to view. Or if you're feeling brave, open office as at least anyone can just download the software for free.

Definitely PDF. Then you can set it to A4 and have two per A4 sheet and each person can cut it in half.
Platform independant, possibly smaller than word document anyway, more control, easier to distribute...

Do we have a relatively high-res version of the logo anywhere? If someone can email me a copy I'll try to put something together - been meaning to do something like this for a while TBH.

I was wondering what it'd be worth putting on there too. Obviously the club name and URL - and that there are forums about the MR2... but also somewhere where the person leaving the flyer can write their usernames on as well - so that people know who left the flyer if they want to know who's local to them?

Yeah, something along the lines of..

You may not be aware, but there's a huge online owners club for the MR2. It encompasses both the UK versions, and the Japanese imports, from the early MK1 right through to the recently discontinued MK3 spider version. It's called IMOC and we can be found at www.imoc.co.uk.

It covers everything from simple servicing of your car right through to any upgrades you might like to carry out. We have several forums that cover these as well as cars/parts for sale, events in your area and a good number of companies dedicated specifically to working on MR2's (for the jobs you might not feel confident in doing!)

This flier was left for you by [insert user name], if you are in anyway annoyed or displeased by this flier being left on your car, please accept our appologies.

Think I'd go ape if I found an IMOC flier under my wiper. I heard someone on another forum was doing this -doesn't say much for the enviromnent and there's too many other folk putting junk mail under wiper blades these days. If it ain't your car you've no right to touch it!

Yeah, after the reaction of the owners after another club left flyers under wipers at JAE (which I fully understood and would've felt the same if they hadn't missed my car out... ) it may not be the best idea.
I've taken to parking my '2 next to another Mk1 near me instead. It's got the IMOC sticker in the back, though I'm going to add something soon to make it more obvious what IMOC stands for - and who I am...

There's a difference between leaving one on an MR2 you park next to and putting a flier on every single Toyota at a club meet when you not a club member - bad etiquette.

Yup, I know. But there's bound to be people who'd still be a bit annoyed at someone else touching their car... If someone put a flyer under my wipers I'd be asking myself whether they'd just let the wiper jump back onto the screen with the spring or whether they'd lowered it down gently as I do...

You (anybody) have no business touching anybody elses car for whatever reason, hence why many of us fit fairly expensive alarm systems.

Plus you are turning the forum into a type of junk mail advertising. Any form of advertising like this is bad ettiquate. Just because someone doesn't have a sticker, doesn't mean they don't know about the forum. Not everyone wants stickers in their windows, and not everyone is interested in joining a club or forum either.

Let's put this idea to bed please or next thing we'll be getting the darn things through the letterbox along with all the other scrap paper we can't recycle but are responsible for disposing of.

It was simply an idea as when I owned my first Celica GT4 (probably around 9 years ago now) I was completely unaware of any online owners clubs etc. Not everyone is aware of them so I "thought" a flier might be an idea. I did add an appology on the example flier that I wrote up in case you didn't read it......
