How abot tools/internet options/security and check the list of restricted sites,

Guarenteed to work

Re: imoc does not work on my pc
If your getting a 404 error it means that the browser is most likely pointing at the wrong webserver.
Which wither points to DNS or an iffy local hosts file.

Do ping
"www.imoc.co.uk" and post back the ip address.

Do ping

Code: Select all

Re: imoc does not work on my pc
While we are tracing this fault, it would be handy to get the ouput of your
"ipconfig
/all" screen.
From a cmd shell, just type the following.
.
.

ipconfig
/all
>c:\ipconfig.txt

then email me the c:\ipconfig.txt file so I can have a look.

Neil.

Did you do Neil Johnson's hack to add www.imoc.co.uk to your local'hosts' file? If so, remove that entry as it points to the old NT server we were hosted from.

lol i think your going to have to dumb it down to how he actually does that ben as that means nothing to most but me here i think

Re: imoc does not work on my pc
OK, the fact that nslookup is correct means that your DNS settings are correct.
The fact that your ping setting is wrong means that your local hosts file is probably wrong.

Open the your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
(Start
-> Run
-
>
"notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts")
and look for a line like this.
.
.

213.171.219.195 www.imoc.co.uk

If you find one comment it out completely by putting a
"#" at the font.

#213.171.219.195 www.imoc.co.uk

Then save the file and try accessing the website again.

Neil.

Was hoping this would solve my longstanding problem of accessing

The Windows file in question though is pretty much empty so it didn't help.

Also, when if I connect via dial-up
