Will Accord or Civic Type R recaros fit into the mr2? Custom subframes?

If not whats the best car to look for some nice recaro style seats from?

i'd have though evo 5+ recaros, aka speeds would have been the ones to nab...

I cant comment too much bere as i am lucky enough to have rev one recaros in the car already so i now my subframes will fit recaros :-)

generic recaro seat rails can be pretty easily fitted to the standard seat rails.

Remove the standard rails from your seats, angle grind everything above the runners off, a few bolts holding the recaro rails to the standard runners and job done.

That was with my recaro SPG anywho

nice seats!! i like the idea of some civic type r recaros just hope theyre not too wide...getting em couriered to me is gunna be a b1tch if i find some...

life was so simple when i had an astra, shove everything in the back no problems lol

is forward tilt really that essential in the mr2? i mean i never use the boxes but if i do i suppose i could recline the seat forwards?

The only thing I recline mines is to store the t-bar glasses...

Other then that, don't know what you could want from such a tiny space... :-k

i fitted evo 6 or 7 recaros in mine, took some thought work and a mig welder, also some rev 1 recaro seat runners.

When i did it the seats seemed to be arround 5mm-10mm wider so welded a wider piece of steel on to each base rail to extend them then bolted the seats on after ginding the old evo bits off.

I did look at typr r seats but they seem to go for silly money, when i was looking you could have got new recaro speeds from demontweeks for the same cash, and the were leather. Evo seats seem to come up more often, and i only paid £350 for them and they were out of a nearlly new car that was being turned into a group n rally car.

But they dont fold forward, you have to wind um, which is a pain.

I have pics if you want um.

Chris.

Heres the links, i seem to have deleted the pictures of the rails i made, sorry mate, but it was simple enough to do. The actual welding wouldnt cost so much, if you fabricated the plates first. Its basicaly 5mm thick by 40mm i think (can check if required) as long as the runner. It cost me about a fiver for the stuff from a local engineering firm.

Im not sure about the mk3 seats, but i could have sworn i saw a post on it, cant find it now though.

I have been trying to remember the place i got them from because they strip evo's and prepair them for rallying.

Infact i have found them see below, give them a ring you may be in luck..:thumleft:
