[Mk2] [Turbo] Low Rise Quad Headlamp conversion kit (Rogue)

Post by Phlukey »

Do these come up for sale used very often or not? :-k If so, roughly what sort of price are they? I'm considering converting to a set of Raybrigs as they look good and are reasonably priced mod, but if a set of these came about at the right price, I'd definitely be tempted........ 8)

not very often at all mate unfortunatly. i managed to get some second hand units for a while ago for £200, but then i needed to spend another £50 for the lifter kit/instructions.

deffinatly save the extra and get the low rise, they look 8)

Agreed with above - and if some do come up i've a feeling you wont be the only one who wants them  I'd like some but will probably just buy them from rogue when i do. I would be very interested to see how easily a HID kit could be added to them as well.

I've got to chip in, I thought they were expensive as well for what it was. Bit fiddly to set-up and needed a few pointers along the way but looking back the cost justified the quality in the end so I haven't felt short changed like I have one or 2 other parts I've bought in the past. Patrick said the cost was actually mainly in the E approved headlight units themselves.

If you see one 2n'd hand snap it up!

Pretty sure someone else tried this too and the response IIRC was that the price is already as low as they can go due to manufacturing and approval costs etc.

If they didn't reply I think its pretty obvious this still applies, i.e. no GB!

they don't often come up to buy second hand as you have to modify the bump stops of the original mechanism.

for modify read hacksaw

if they do come up to buy it's probably someone who's changed their mind BEFORE installation or from a rear end right off.. again not very many :eye:

Fully confident with what Rogue Motorsport either produce/develope and
or tune work on but would really like to know feed-back on the precise
light beam it emits, and how this compares with the stock oe units in terms
of lighting up the road medium range and long range on full?(And side of road peripheral view vision?)

Why i ask is that that the oe lights are very good all round but due to finely tuned aerodynamics when the lights are up and during heavy wind/storms the handling really goes out-PITA! Although i never drive or take her out in wet weather one might or can get caught out like JAE2006 ...so put the lights away and just drove with small driving lights!!...ggrrrhhh!!!...put prefer to be visible for safety in most events
especially with lower light conditions?

Oh presume one can get upgraded high grade bulbs and what about HID or is this O/T?

HID is no problem, just need to get 1 x high/low set, and 1 x low set in H7 bulb fitment. Then the outers can be set to give dipped and main beam whilst the inners are always dipped.

Harry, yes the aerodynamics will be affected a bit at high speed but not that much dude, and mainly just fuel consumption

Have to say, after seeing them in the workshop in bits at RM I was so impressed with the quality of the components I ordered a set there and then. The TRD will look better for it. :D
