MR2 TRIP TO LE MANS 10th JUNE 2008 - AMAZING TRIP!!!!

Well we are all back safely from this years event and I've got to say what a blast we have all had. Getting feedback from people who attended and its all good.

This year is going to be MASSIVE so I'm starting to organise it now. Provisional dates from the trip is Monday 9th June 2008 - Tuesday 17th June 2008. Sailing on Speedferries again and camping at the Chateau de Chanteloup. We will now be going to the French GP after Le Mans, WOW what a trip this is going to be, 2 top motorsport events in 1 week.....

I will in the next month or so set up at webside dedicated to next years trip so look out for that. For 2008 the French MR2 Drivers Club will be camping with us and have already booked 8 x places.

Yea, the provisional date for the trip is stated above, this trip is the one you really do have to do, absolutely superb, 28 people and 16 cars this year, was brilliant.

Please note the dates are stricktly provisional at this point, the race will be the weekend off 14th - 15th June. Will post a definate as soon as I get the information from the ACO.

Wow - can't believe how many people want to come already, probably after seeing what a truely brilliant time we had this year its no wonder this is the best MR2 trip out there at this cost.

Well the plan is to travel down to the hotel in Maidstone - the White Rabbit on the Monday. We can all meet there in the afternoon and get the party started. Tuesday we will drive to Dover and get the Speedferry over to Boulogne, takes 50 minutes and costs roughly £50 - £60. We will drive via Rouen to LeMans and takes about 4 hours, great roads and real fun. Don't worry about driving in France, its so easy. A few people were aprehensive about it in 2007 but found it better than driving in the UK.
We will once again camp at te Chateau du Chanteloup about 15 minutes from the circuit. Superb facility with swimming pool, bar and restaurant.
From then till Friday will be freetime to go and explore the Loire Valley and LeMans itself, some fantastic drives and places to visit. Friday will traditionally be MAD FRIDAY, wait and see, this is the highlight of the event. Friday night the chateau puts on its own sportscar show and is not to be missed. Then Sat - Sun is the big race. Monday is receover day and Tuesday we will return to Boulogne for the ferry.

Its a superb event or holiday and well worth coming. This will be our 8th consecutive trip to the race so lots of help and guidence on hand.

Costs are around £50 - £55 for a return crossing which includes car and 2 passengers. You normally need to arrive 45 minutes before departure.

We will be staying at the Chateau du Chanteloup

Have a look at the website, its a superb facility with swimming pool, bar, restaurant, fishing lake and superb views of the Loire Valley. Note the prices over the LeMan 24 period slightly go up to stay, but well worth it.

You will be required to book your ferry and also to email the chateau and book you camping spot. When you email the chateau they will need the following information:

Your name
How many in your group
Arrival date
Departure date
Tell them you are camping as part of the Toyota MR2 Club, this will ensure we will be camped together in the MR2 villiage.
