There have been a couple of random people who have taken it upon themselves to contact the organisers directly rather than coming through me - please don't do this, it just confuses things for them.

If you want to run speak to me - you should have done so months ago but I know some people like to live life on the edge and enter the day before entry closes

At the moment we have enough cars, problems crop up though so reserves are handy.

Final date for forms and cheques is now the 8th of July...

I'd love to be in a position to post a list but with sporadic entry form sending, postal strikes and so on I still don't have a definitive list, I'm close to it though and as soon as I can post one up I will :)

Criteria - 11's, potential for 10's, very low 12's if you feel you'll break the 11's at the event, confident in handling, willing to have fun and generally enjoy yourself.

Basically a proven quarter mile time of low 12s at least then?

Or a promise of something like that ](*,)

As usual the whole qualifying thing didn't work out, maybe next time

In reality we have the potential for a very strong team again, I'm sure everyone involved will do the MR2 name proud or at least give it their best go - sadly no MK3 or MK1 interest again but plenty of people promising to be quick in 2008.

Do you have anyone in mind to enter Toni or are you just asking?

Just asking - because like you I know of several people with interesting cars on here (and off  ) but who haven't put in a time yet. I did that last year and it didn't end well. Haven't had the time to practice so as you know have already decided not to put myself in that position again this year!! Shame as car will be ready to go with lots of new shiny bits and CF/TC...but it's just too much to jump straight into a competition again.

Potential is only 50% of it!!! Basically I am wondering out loud if you should push for 10 if only 5 say have proved a good time, maybe a smaller proven team might be the way forward. :-k Not criticising as such, just discussing. :)

Tricky, I like the fact we have 10 spaces now, mainly because it gives more people an opportunity to have a go - as I've said from the start it's not an event an MR2 is likely to win but people can have a lot of fun all the same, I'd rather watch 5 extra MR2s having a go than 5 more Imprezas or Skylines :)

But if things pan out OK we have a strong team, if things don't work out we have next year to work towards, maybe you'll have 2 cars there Toni.

Would be nice to have one finished. :)

I agree with you, but given the stick I got last year those that enter should be aware some members are fairly unforgiving. :o

At the end of the day, it's like Mitch said, an MR2 is highly unlikely to win (anything if we're being honest here), but it's the taking part, and having a go that matters. We need better team spirit though this year. More "all for one and one for all" and all that. :thumleft:

If just one of us can get a decent result it'll make it worth the effort and shock a few of the big boys.

I think we have a strong team this year. All we need is a strong team spirit to go with it.

We just need to remember... it's just a bit of fun. :thumleft:

Have to agree here, as a spectator for the last three years it did seem a little err disjointed last year. So looking forward to it this year as it’s a bigger team with stronger cars. Go team MR2 \:D/

Ah right, yes I agree - there seemed to be 2 teams last year, hopefully that won't happen again :)

As long as we remember both sides felt that there is no need to be diplomatic.

So based on there possibly being an over-subscription and a lack of times from all entrants, how will it be decided?
