if you've got an original then the longer rev 1/2 clips into a small o ring. unclip the base of the gaiter and unscrew the gearknob and remove the whole thing and you'll see it.

If its the stubby one, then there shouldnt be anything preventing it from coming off. Just hold the gaiter top firmly while you unscrew the knob

Not too clear, but Ebay short shifter with chrome knob, hand sticks to it in the winter and removes skin in the summer, but'll be no problem once I get the remote engine start going. :roll:

Mine is just like the one in this photo the small stumpy one. So you are saying it should just screw off yes??
