Post by gidders »

Hello i joined last week, and have just got round to posting pics of my new mr2.Its a solid roof with a/c and has a induction kit, magnex exhaut and 17 inch alloys.Unfortunatley its done the usual thing with red paint and has gone a bit bloomy.First job is to get it resprayed, going to leave it the same red,but paint the roof black

very nice, but the first thing you need to do is get rid of them lights in the bumper and replace them with some crystal clear ones or some later clear ones.

With a red car you dont need a respray just a little bit of hard graft with some decent polish and finish it off with a decent wax then it looks a million dollars with everyone looking, believe me it works...

From what I can see, she looks good! :thumleft: Maybe it's because I'm from america and we can't get the european signal corners, but i LIKE them alot. Matter of fact I love them. The black roof is going to be nice. :D

As mentioned above,no need to respray dull paintwork.Invest in a Smartool from www.autosmart.co.uk. They are about 80 quid and are very safe even for someone with no experience of machine polishing.

Heres my car that was so badly faded it was pink when i got it. http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66336

I machined polished it using the Smartool with R3 compound then R1 to take out any swirls about a year ago. On these pics i used Carnauba Gold paste wax, same stuff as Zymol.

Cheers for the tips, used to use autosmart products when i was a valeter a few years back. Its had paint in the past, and a couple of touch ups which dont quite match, hence the reason i want to get it painted
