hi, thort id join this website, as im looking at getting an mk2 MR2 anytime soon :P , im 22 in may, got insurance sorted, looking at spending around £4000, want a UK car rev 3 GT T-bar in black or red ive decided, got to have full service history, with no signs of previous accident damage, with under 100K miles, been looking for a few weeks now , dont mind waiting, gota get the right car, been to look at 2, rang up about a few more, cant drive it til may so i got a bit of time to find one, anything in particular i should look out for, rust isnt generaly a problem i assume? whats the truth about rear tyres, ive heard various stories, if i put on some decent soft well gripping tyres like yokohamas or sumthing, and i dont plan on driving it hard till i learn more about driving it, so ill be driving like a granny for a few months, dont wana crash :( cos its my first rear wheel drive car, so how many miles will i get out of a set of rears rougly? and like a said what shall i look out for?
any advice much appreciated, thanks

Usual stuff really, look at as many as you can and get a feel for whats available then you will be able to spot the good ones. For your money if you find a genuine fsh car then you are off to a good start as there may not be too many at the price.

I would not have thought that you would need to worry too much about tyre wear on an NA as they put power down quite smoothly and if you do drive it like you say you will the tyres will last. The biggest issue will be getting used to rear wheel drive as its very different to fwd.

Best of luck with the search.
