I put a blueprint dizzy onto Richard's car last Thursday - do you think its that?

Max - no need to clean the rotor arm - its a brand new one on there.

If its the dizzy cap then we can try it with the one off my mk1 on saturday - if necessary I still have the old one from richard's car in my trunk.

The new red one from richard should fit you just need to drill out the hole in the marked ring indenttaion (I showed him the ring).

The noise is noticable at idle (very quitely mind), no idea what it is though.

I put a set of blueprint leads on mine. Noticed a ticky arc noise one day. The HT lead shroud had split on the terminal coil and was arcing across. Had them replaced under warranty.

How bad is the bumper bar? I managed to plate mine and rivet it up.

I found it very hard to get a MK1a bumper. I bought a cover off of a guy on the mk1 club, very helpful at the time he was, but it turned out to be a mk1b bumper cover! He ignored me after I told him I couldnt fit it, even though he said he'd reinburse me. Since then I sold it to some one on here.

If you can fibreglass the bumper cover. I did, and it looks very good. Bumper bar is still strong too.

Good point Alex. :thumleft:

The guy's paying for the repairs but if Richard can't find a replacement cover I've got some fibreglass. Will have to see how bad the damage is. :-k

These things happen mate. Seemed when I had a problem in my Red MK1a, loads of problems came up all at once. Maybe its just red mk1a's?
