that is correct ,but forgive me for going on about quality

why would anybody want a s/s manifold which is prone to cracking ,when you can utilise the oem toyota manifold that has been proven to withstand 500+bhp time and time again

also i may be wrong but the xs manifold only fits the rev1/2 cars ,i don't ""think"" they do one for the rev3 :-k

can't say much because its advertising but the external wastegates aren't on the market so everything people have seen has been on internal wastegate.

Standard manifold all the way, nice and reliable and will take alot of stick.

to help with your sale wayne, the turbo will make more than that, that was with a poor ecu map. The operator at Weston said there was easily another 20-30bhp in there with the correct map.

You can have my old xs power one for free if you like.

Its been welded up about 5 times though, they are poo fella. pure pants.

Oh you will have to weld up the new crack for it to work properly. but seriously you can have it when i remove mine, for free!

i remeber when i brought my t3/t4 turbo,
it was a pain to source the oil fittings and downpipe.

in the end i had to go for a stainless manifold because the t3 adaptor plate
pushed to turbo into the rear bulkhead.

in fairness the turbo and manifold and downpipe are still ok,though ive never had real confidence in the manifold,
so ive been looking to change the manifold for a t3/t4 cast iron one
which appears to be quite rare,
untill now,
take a look at this ,

anyone have one of these?
cost is £140 +p+p
being cast iron their are no welds to worry about,
so i think ill buy one and dump the stainless,
unless of course someone says they had six and were all cr*p

Only thing I can see straight away is that the external wastegate connection is very poor. This would only vent from 1 of the cylinders where you really want it able to vent from all 4.

Also the fitting for the wastegate has threaded holes, the base mount of the Tial set up you’re meant to have a through hole on the manifold fitting. So to fit the tial you would have to drill out the threads on the Tial Wastegate.

Just a visual thing, not seen one in the flesh but I think cast iron is the way to go, I kept mine over going tubular for reliability reasons also.

thanks for that tim,
i hadnt spotted the vent issue, but looking at it i see what you mean.

i suppose i have a few choices ,live with the ss one untill it cracks,
refit the standard one(i still have mine too)and alter the rear bulkhead,
or change the turbo(but this one is less than a year old)
or spend mega bucks on a decent one.

the one ive pictured ,do you think performance will be be seriously compromised with the venting issue ?

many thanks

i'm not saying it won't work i'm just talking ideals with venting from all cylinders.

To be honest to worst thing that will happen is the wastegate won't be able to control the boost and you'll get boost creep. If this doesn't happen it won't effect power and performance one bit, its a control issue with only venting from 1 cylinder not a performance one.
