Mytres.co.uk and Fitting station and me! Tyres lost whos...

Post by BILLY c »

Got a pair of Kumho 712's ordered from mytyres.co.uk and they offer a service to have them sent to a fitting station. I am using Rochford tyres nr Southend. One which they offered on their site when you put the postcode in.

Anyway got confirmation that tyres are delivered, called Rochford tyres - "Sorry sir, we havent got them plus we don't deal with mytyres.co.uk"

Called Mytyres, they say its been sent, been signed for etc.

Where does that leave me..No Tyres and out of Pocket.

Mytyres wont refund me as yet and Rochford tyres are useless!

What can i do?? Where do i stand?

Cheers

Will

Find out WHERE mytyres sent them (the exact garage name, postcode, tel no. etc, who signed for them). Then call this garage.

Hmmmn, tricky, but I think Mytyres are at fault here. I suggest that you inform them that in your opinion the tyres have not been delivered, ask them to provide proof of the signature (there must be a person named who signed for them, plus the name of the driver who delivered them).

See if they can provide this information - though if I were in that situation I would call Trading Standards for further advice, or the AA legal helpline if you are a member.

And tell them that is what you are doing...they must have a responsibility here, and I'd have thought they wouldn't want TS sniffing around. As a matter of interest I assume you did talk to Rochford Tyres prior to having this delivery go there?

Your contract is with mytyres and not Rochford. I'd try and get confirmation from mytyres which address they were sent to and see if Rochford will acknowledge the delivery. If you get nowhere you need to chase mytyres and inform them that they have not fulfilled their terms of the contract and that you have yet to get the tyres. No doubt they will fob you off and say it is Rochford's problem but that isn't the case.

If they still don't want to play ball and you paid by credit card then get the credit card company to refund your money and they will chase mytyres. If you didn't pay by credit card then get a solicitor's advice and pursue through small claims court.

phone your credit company and get them to stop the payment. You did pay by credit card?

Banks will sometimes refund payments

^^

Exactly what i was thinking - Dodgy staff ! Just have em away and they can pass the blame and say theyve fitted it on my car!

Oh well, got them direct thru local fitter, 150 inc fit balance etc.

Works out pretty much the same. £123 plus £14 for fitting = £137 oh well, less hassle and stress i suppose!

Thanks
