Going to pick up my mr2 M-reg later today (will get some pics up asap)

Just a few questions

I wanna get a new after market front bumper, but i dont want anything OTT! just something smart with a nice grille in it, no big skirts etc!! any thoughts and/or pics???

What Mr2 do i have? lol dont really know anything??

wanna give it an oil change, is this hard(er than a normal type car e.g a golf?)

Hi good decision on choosing an mr2!,
Not sure what model mr2 you have, is it a turbo or NA, I think an M reg is a rev 4 but im sure someone on here will post up the right info. Regarding changing the oil, the filter is in a b!tch of a location and ideally you need the car or at leat the rear end up in the air quite high. I got fed up of trying and got my local garage to do it for me on the ramps (also let me have a good look underneath too).

I would reckon a M reg is a Rev 3 mate!
If yours is a NA, you should expect your engine gives out 173 bhp. Same as mine! Not sure about the spec of a Rev 3 tubby.
On a Rev3, you got different rear spoiler(1 piece), rear clusters(round) than the pre rev.
Colour coded front lip, side strip.
Mostly cosmetic change from the pre rev.
Anyway, good choice of motor! =D>

As TheRed2 said, it'll be a rev3.
And being a rev3+ it has the oil filter right at the bottom of the engine so it's easy to change (just remove a bit of plastic undertray).

no offense, but why would you buy a car if you dont no anything about it?? this means you dont no what you were looking for, dont no common faults, what equipment it should have, performance or anything.

Oil change is quite easy and no different from other cars. But Blue2 is right, the filter can be a bit tricky to get off.

Its not a turbo, i got it from a mates mate for a good price, just wanna get going on it. heres a pic

Looks ok from here, hard to tell without getting up close and personal, M reg would be a rev3.

Nice motor mate... ... looks like a UK spec. There are a few kits available for the MR2 that are not really OTT. Best front bumper IMO is the Border one. The Bomex bumper also follows the lines of the 2 quite well.

Failing that you can get extensions that fit to your existing bumper!
