[Mk2] [Turbo] A safe model of Turbo for standard internals........

Post by 2Crooky »

Hey peeps 8)

Looks as though my oil seals may have gone on my CT26 :( If this does turn out to be the case i will most likely be changing turbo as i am searching for bigger power in the near future anyway..........

Now i could just buy another CT26 unit but i would prefer to go with something larger, preferably not a CT20b though :-s Could anyone recommend an upgrade of turbo which may help support towards 330fwhp for the time being and that won't have any bad affects on my internals :)

Ideas on price would be much appreciated too 8)

Currently i am running

MBC - Boost at 1.05 bar
Blitz Decat
Apexi N1 exhaust
Magnecor HT Leads
NGK grade 7 plugs
HKS Mushroom filter
Turbo XS BOV
Fuel Cut Defender
Chargecooler in the pipeline before new turbo \:D/

Just looking for a turbo to give me the kick towards the 330bhp mark, by all means please let me know if this figure in unacheivable on earlier revisions without modifying internals.......

Cheers

Its the fuel that you need to worry about you could use something like a gt28 or td06 would be good for that power and more but i doubt you could get 330fwhp from 440cc injectors.

Oh well that should do it plenty of fuel :thumleft: I think you can go pretty far with stock internals Im sure people in the states have gone past 400hp,
Theres also the ko racing street brawler or a ct20 should get close if you sort the fueling out

/\
neither if you want 330bhp without having to run crazy amounts of boost....

TD06, one of Tims GT turbos.....aim for a turbo that is capable of 400bhp....then just run 1.2bar and hope to hit the figs your after...

Crooky what power are you running mate just a tad curious

Seems to be fine lol

Chargecooler is in the mixer but not yet.......

220fwhp from factory......Probably down to about 210fwhp due to age of car.......

With my extra mods i might be making 235 at the flywheel???????? Not sure at all...

Your far, far more likely to destroy an engine pushing the limits of a small turbo over running a big one at the bottom of its range.

i.e. my mx5 runs a GT28 and thats on an engine that left the factory n/a its never been opened up.

I am running up to 1.2 bar on stock I/C not had a problem yet, with 303fwhp.

Before someone says your engine will go pop soon, its now up to 290000km! tho i am looking for a new I/C just because i fancy a nice looking one!
