Still got a million and one jobs to do, including getting some new tyres on the back.

We were going to go down the tuesday morning, but decided to go the monday afternoon and have a few beers and a chill before the ferry crossing. Where you coming from Paul? If your on route with us and could make it monday afternoon then we could all drive down togeather?

To be honest its no cheaper, it used to be but the last few times I've been its been about the same price.

If you get he Halfords bulb kit you need number 2 for the Toyota MK1 and MK2 and number 16 for the Roadster.

Hi Spittin,
Just couldn't quite stretch to a hotel (and a meal and beer) as well unfortunately, so I have to drive down tuesday morning. Coming down from Dravenville, sorry Milton Keynes. I plan to go M1, M25, M20 A20, I am hoping that at that time of the morning I should be able to do it in about 3 and a half hours (including any potential getting lost detours around the docks), without having to go at crazy (illeagel) speeds.

Thanks for the petrol info Micheal, I might as well fill up here then !

Paul We cant stretch to a hotel either....... Will just ruff it somewhere. If you change your mind let us know, your more than welcome to convoy down with us... just meet you somewhere.

If not then will see you at the docks.... Mine's the black tubby with far to many stickers on it and more to put on when we get at the docks

I was going to wash and polish the car this weekend ready for the journey, does anyone know if this will have an adverse effect on the sticky-ness of the stickers ?

Can you all make sure you have maps and France maps with you and that you have a copy of the route. Please don't rely on keeping close to the car in front ( although it will be a TOYOTA ) as sometimes its possible you will be seperated, especially going through the villages and city's. I'm quite good at keeping everyone together but sometimes the inevitable happens. So please study the maps and do the route yourself with printed out copies with you inside the car. Here is the proposed route, note in France roads often have 2 numbers, eg A28/E402:

A16 out of Boulogne heading South for Abberville/Rouen.

Once we hit Abberville pick up the A28/E402 to Rouen ( Junction 23 Peage ) bear right and right again on A28.

A28 all the way to Rouen. Once we hit Rouen head towards Oissel, go over the historic bridge and pick up the E46 and the E402 to Oissel, then join the A13 WEST heading towards Point Audemer/Caen, just after junction 24 pick back up the A28 to Le Mans.

Stay on A28 passing Alencon, just outside of Le Mans pick up the A11 towards Chartre/Paris heading East and then pick back up the A28. This section is a little tricky and catches everyone out so stay together. We are looking for Yvre-l-Eveque and come off there through the Peage and pick up the D20 towards Yvre-l-Eveque and Bonnetable you will then see signs for Chanteloup. Just stay with me on this section and I will guide you to the Chateau.

Happy driving!! Be sensible and careful, lots of Gendamarie floating about with speed cameras.

just been on the sea france web-site and as a late booking i can get a ticket for 2 adults and 2 children traveling in a car at 07:00am monday 11th june 2007 and retorn on thursday 21st june 2007 for an amazing £106 return what a fantastic price . this isnt the hoverspeed it is the ferry so slightly more driving in france to get to le-manns. i went in 2005 just me and the gf at a cost of £130 return and booked about 3 months earlier. unfortunatley i cant go this year unless i can convince th gf in the next hour to book the tickets [ it will never happen ] but to anyone making that last minuite decision thats a cracking price. safe driving everyone and i know you will all enjoy this as much as we did if not more . a true break to remember. [ wish i was going ] .

If the worst comes to the worst i've got one of those things you plug into the ciggy lighter and it converts the power to 240v with a 3 pin plug socket on the end, so could just plug it into there Good for keeping phones charged up etc
