We need to get in before 5pm to get student discount - so given my knees are still slightly fubar from skiing on monday, i'll probably only be able to do 2 hours... and Leena is going to phone me when she can sneak out of work.
Fingers crossed we'll be back by 6/7pm.

Would be good to have a relax tbh. are there any tickets left?

Hi everyone,

Just a quick line to say thanks to all that came along and made the event a huge success!
The weather was hot and sunny, most people have now turned salmon pink, with a total of 24 different Mk1's we put on a great show.

Sorry if I didn't get to spend time with you, but I hope you enjoyed it!

Special thanks to Sy, Jo and Bill who all helped me make sure everything went smoothly

Hiya everyone

WHat a great show!

It was great to get to meet a few new peeps :thumleft: /waves

We were so lucky with the weather - not a spot of rain :thumleft:
I put this down to me packing every waterproof under the sun and my ski pants for when it got really cold and wet.
Now i am the worst shade of pink, and better than the centrel heating for warming the room with my glow

Again, we had a good evening 'do' and met up with our friends from the drivers club too.

The stand looked really great - amazing planted flower tubs from Si's garden centre :thumleft:
The quality of cars was really good too- apart from some rusty track-prepped thing someone had snuck in the back (erm...that was me LOL)

Both days our members won best MR2 MK1 out of the whole show(Sat - Neil?, Sunday - John R) - well done both of you, and goes to show the effort put inot producing immaculate cars, and a real credit to your dedication)

There were a few hangovers on the sunday morning, but you can't beat a good sat night campfire and a social drinky :eye:

There will be a second Tatton classic show later on in the year (Aug?) so don't miss out

Big :thumleft: to everyone for making a noob feel welcome..... especially John for putting up with my 14 attempts to park the '2 in the right place 8-[

I really wish I hadn't seen the V6 conversion now though....

Oh and the BBQ was just delightful!.... Fortunatly no-one saw me sneak over after gorging on the one on the Supra stand.... \:D/

Thanks very much to Jo & the rest of the Mk1 club people, as well as some of the DC peeps for making us welcome on Friday night and Saturday. It's a really good show, very different atmosphere to JAE. Some really stunning examples of historic sports cars there (like an absolutely immaculate DB5 =P~ , and a beautiful GT350 \:D/ ).

Both of the Mr2 clubs being represented there had some really nice examples on show, with the mk1 club having 2 1.5s on the stand, and a 1.6, along with a SC and a handful of NAs :thumleft: The DC had a couple of really mint mk1s (IIRC, Neil_turbos won best mk1?), and Shish's Super Edition, which really does come up nice if you actually clean it ;)

Will be back later in the year if we can :thumleft:

I had the misfortune of following the DB5 into the show....

I had to keep telling myself "Dont crash now.... dont crash now"

Fancy explaining that one to the insurance company..... "hi, yeah.... ermmm i just wrote off a 100k car with my old Mr2"

Was a good day on Saturday :)

Hi to Anna, Speedy and everyone else that I met and whose names I've promptly forgotten... someone else with a mkiii Supra and the people I took over to see the Striker (one of them had the mk1.6, which was fantastic).

See some of you at Anglesey in a couple of weeks I expect, the Striker is off to RAW on Friday to have the engine and suspension setup so it should be running properly by then. Just have to hope for a reasonably dry weekend or I'll be piloting my barge in the wet which could be entertaining :)

Yep, good show, thanx to the DC for putting up with Mark and I once again.

It was good to see that there was at least one mk1 club member who could go the distance on Sat night and watch the sun come up in the morning whilst sitting round the campfire.

Was great to catch up with everyone, sailors oop north, whatever next? I think i caught Alex looking for pieces of eight, but it looked like he found something else entirely.

Fazza is good, he's had some shoulder problems, but has put some weight on and is looking much better for it. Was good to see him and the rest of the usual nutters. Predictably Mark and I were the last up on both nights, though good to see Si (taylor) being hardcore too, actually had a really good pi$$ed type chat with him, interesting guy.

Hello all!

was goo to meet a lot of you all again/properly/for the first time etc!

It was my girlfriends mk1 that i spent the weekend cleaning, it won best mr2 on the DC stand on sat, not at show, that was won by possibly the cleanest mk1 ever, that i have heard is up for sale!?

Anyway it was a brilliant weekend even if i did fall asleep both nights by the fire!

Yeah - your girlfriends MK1 was super shiney :thumleft: Top job!

Both best MK1's of the show (judged by the show people) for Saturday and sunday were won by MK1 club stand Cars:

Sat: Neil Brindleys Red MK1
Sun: John Redmonds Helious Blue MK1

well done to both of them

Neils MK1 was not for sale, but another absolute stunner, easily an equal match for quality was sold at the show and bought by another MK1 member......
The car looked brand new  :thumleft:
