Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Ive finally finished the car. I bought this for my girlfriend a couple of months ago and the intention was to modify it within a £2K budget bought and built. After asking the advice on here it looked like it was going to be a tall task to ask but heres the results.
its a UK mk2 NA. The criteria i wanted was leather seats,T bar and under 100K milage. after looking at a few cars i found one (99,000miles ) in mint condition apart from a couple of rust patches. The only problem was that it was white. Not a big problem, just more spraying to do as i wanted a dark colour for my girlfriend from the outset.
its been resprayed in a variation of midnight purple, got the kit off ebay cheap and wheels secondhand from ultralite directly. All in it came to £2400 for the car and modifications. Probably the hardest tasks were finding the facelift for the rear end within budget and taking a risk with the 8.5/9.5" wheel combo but its all worked out great IMO. Let me know what you all think.
You've done an awesome job there, Rich. She looks absolutely stunning (and thats a damn hard task to do when put next to your awesome FD!).
Love it, mate, top work as per usual.
Andy

top bannana - you must feel like king kong now.
this for two k makes me feel so guilty about what i am spending, especially as i ont really have it all yet.
i did a balance sheet on the back of a scrap pad recently, 3k in, 3 to go, plus engine. but that is kit, interior, gremlins, ice suspension brakes, seats wheels dot dot dot dot
seeing the difference in the budget labour makes, you have nudged me back onto doing my engine myself... thanks for stopping me chickening out of it
