Newbie here!!!!! pics too........

Post by RichardPON »

Just found this forum, and thought I'd say hello. A few people will recognise me from the MR2OC board as I've been there for a few days.

Just bought my first MR2 - car is a 1993 Turbo in black, and although I thought it was standardish, it would appear to be nicely modified.

Couple of pics:

This is my everyday driver, and I must say, I'm loving the car - really pleased with everything about the car, apart from the gravity induced fuel gauge!

Also this is my first forray to the dark side from the world of Fords, as I'm a cossie man at heart - this is the track car:

Website looks good so far - looking forward to getting to know some people and obviously spending far too much on the MR2 8)

Hi Richard.. two clean, smart looking motors there. I'm a mk1 MR2 owner myself, but I too have a Ford as a track day car! (check my profile page).

John,

That's certainly a nice selection of cars you've got there.

Quite like the Locost - my next project is a Tiger Avon with a 2 litre zetec.

We have a bit of a car mad family, so I can appreciate the "getting it in the neck" - just had to give up my 205 1.9GTi because of lack of space.

Let me know if you do any track days (RS related maybe), and I'll try and say hello if I'm there.

Richard, theres another MR2 owner (grsymons - gary symons) on here with a Tiger Avon... he's actually a mk1.5 (mk1.5 = dropping the mk2 2l turbo into a mk1!) builder like me too. His Avon is on the road apparently... I'm sure he'll be able to let you know how his build went!

The Locost just seems to drag on and on... we've started and finished so many things since that one! We will finish it for this summer!

To be honest, I've had so much fun in the MR2, that the cossie may well go soon.

I've spent so much money on it, and it's been in the build process two years, so it's so easy to lose heart (as you probably know John).

Cossie has always had a little Jap influence though - I'm quite partial to Defi gauges
