[Mk2] [Generic] Windscreen Colour Variation

Just a warning for anyone else who gets a crack, and is *really* picky about their cars.

I've just had a new windscreen fitted, care of my insurance as it had a crack. The new one is a Pilkington one, not a Toyota original, and it isn't quite the same colour - it's definitely a few shades paler than the side windows. Apparently you can get Toyota ones, but they cost more.

This is a UK-spec green one BTW, not a bronze Japanese import.

Ah! Mine is the later type. Perhaps I was lucky, or perhaps the insurance people knew that too.

I just got a new screen fitted to my import. Its a perfect colour match with the bronze side windows. Its made by Sekurit? Cost 162 quid plus the dreaded VAT. Anyone in North West needing a new screen id use Bolton Safety Glass again,they did a top job and didnt even charge me for a new rubber trim when others wanted an extra 30 quid.

My UK car has the green tint and also has the Pilkington screen. Must admit,it does look to be less tinted than the other windows.It looks almost like its got no tint in it. I hate not having a sunstrip on top as well.You get loads of glare from the sky so i normally have the shades down.

i had to specify toyota screen and they got one for me because mines bronze ad ive seen other ones a different shade. i paid £65 instead of £50 but i was happy
