Toyo Tyres?

Does anyone have any comments about TOYO tyres. My car came with a set and they look quite new does anyone know how much they cost to replace and more to the point are they any good, they seem to hold the road nicely.

mytyres.co.uk is where we got the Toyos from @ £70.00 each including delivery which took two days to our front door. That was last year for the T1-S. Not sure what the T1-R's go for...

There are low tread indicators in the form of little bumps inbetween some of the tread. If the tread is as low as the bumps - it deffo time to replace

Seconded - thay are great on prices and service (the T1-R's are usually only a pound more than the R's). We (ROC) use them a lot.

One of the best tyres you can get for the 2, I heard some people saying its a bit "squidgy" around corners but I only experienced that when my tread was practically 0mm. They do have a softer sidewall than other brands so that may explain it aswell, nevertheless the grip is outstanding in dry and wet

Very very good wet weather grip, excellent in the dry too, but I found they didn't give as much weight to the steering as some other tyres (prob because they're so soft). The downside to the grip is that they only lasted about 5,000 miles

The new T1-R has a harder sidewall apparently, so it should fix some of the concerns folks had about the previous T1-S.

I got Toyos on the front of mine about 12 months ago, only just need to replace them now. Would have them on the back too but my tyres couldnt get me them for the back. Works out at around £95 each for 18s I think, and that does for a years worth of normal road driving... about 10k miles worth I think.

my own experience was the older s type on the rear of my tubby std 15" and they were utter garbage.

No lateral grip unless I gave them abuse beforehand, surfaces changes had the tail wagging and in the rain they were just lethal at anything over 30 mph.

Maybe I got a duff pair but they were utter mince.

allan i have read on here a few times your thoughts on toyo tyres and always found them so hard to believe.If your are insistant that they were as rubbish as you say do you think there is a possibility you got a duff set,i mean is this a common thing.Reason i ask is i have a mate in a similiar situation over a set of Goodyear eagle F1's.He noticed little cracks appear on the sidewalls after 1000 mile and simply cannot set the foot down in the rain at all.He also has to take it easy in ther dry.

My opinion is for the toyo proxes that they wear off too soon compared to the grip they give...

Got pirelli's p zero nero's now and they're way better...

hope there that good and better than economy, the garage once said u can tell if they have direction markers on

i know I bought them because of the recommendations on the old IMOC board and I was gutted when they were so crap and I had the whole car checked out cause I just couldn't figure out why

my own experiences are written here and you can see I had problems with the S03's as well though Bridgestone said running S02 up front and S03's rear was always going to give trouble. Weird but that's what happened
