These are a bit of a US thing. They look awful on though.

I've never understood the thinking behind these.

"Hmmmm, need to stop my car getting stonechips because stonechips make it look a bit manky. I know, I'll fit a bra and make it look absolutely hideous instead!!"

Those nasty faux lauther pouches for mobile phone are the same.....

i do hate the look of them, but if it wasn't for the fact that it wont fit over tangos kit i would buy it to prevent stone chips on the m'way

Point is guys that the bra is intended for use when driving and is removed when you arrive at a show etc.

I have always quite liked them but to justify one you really need a killer paint job

for you Jo I recon it would be worth investing in a custom made one
if it cost £200 (guesstimate!)
cost of getting stone chips repaired would easily eat more than that

So ladies and gents, do we agree that a bra is for practical use only (unless it looks nice), and should be left off at all other times?

they are used in places like California where mega buck show cars are common to get the car to a show so that it can be shown at its best
if you left one on for any length of time you would find it had rubbed and damaged the thing you intended to preserve i.e. your paint job

Why not just get that clear vinyl put on the front end if you are worried about stone chips?

have to admit I do like the Bra idea for the MR2, but mainly for storage, a extra layer of protection for a pretty expensive & vulnerable bit of bodywork - the nosecone.

I've got 2 spare bra sets if anyone wants to take them. Bought them because I'd never seen them before. One is made by LeBra and the other is from Canada with no make on, has toyota logo in white along the front nosecone section of one. I've no idea how they fit and have never tried, has seperate pieces for the lights.

Email me if interested, both in black.

The clear plastic film is manufactured by 3M (I think). Various distributors around the country. I think The plastic stips/panels/sections are cut specific to the shape of a car before fitting so not a generic elasticised film... :(

One of the recommended suppliers through Piston Heads is:
