[Mk2] [Turbo] MK2 rev2 tubby timing belt

Post by Wardysur »

hi i just purchased myself a mk2 rev2 turbo last month and i need to repace the timing belt before 100,000Km.

id rather get it done sooner than later but dont know if its a job any mechanic can do or is it only specialists? :?

the cars got 92k at the min

how much would i expect to pay for labour and does the whole engine have to be dropped out of her?

im from northern ireland, can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the area for my 2?

many thanks, wardysur :thumleft: [/b]

no the engine doesn't have to come out.

Look to pay around £120-150 for ALL the parts. Tensioner, 2 bearings and a belt.

Labour varies as to whether they've done an MR2 belt before!

Labour should be between £100 for someone wanting to do you a favour to £300 for someone who doesn't want to do it!
