At the end of the day a number of various issues can happen on track. Everyone should be aware of the risks.

Speaking to someone at the MR2 Challenge at Cadwell week before last was saying that Castle Combe has more recorded trackday accidents than any other circuit. Most of those accidents happen at Quarry. and most of those quarry accidents happen on these type of "action days" where people pay by the session or for a session. How true this actually is I don't know...

Just take it easy people  8) :thumleft:

I should be heading up there too, from Salisbury. Not tracking it though, too risky and not good value for money either.

I plan to get tickets on the gate, what time would be advisable to get there for do you think lads/ladies?

Must admit I'm a bit worried about this, I love a grudge match as much as anyone but don't want my car damaged.

Just hope that it's OK since they've split it into seperate groups based on ability.

Ian you should be OK as long as you keep your wits about you and are very aware of what else is around you.
Start slow and increase speads as you go :thumleft:

It might be better now it's sessioned to ability/experience. When they did Japfest II at donnington last year it was done like this and I don't think there was even one incident 8)

Well it turned out OK afterall. There weren't that many people there to be honest and most of the guys were fine. There was however one geezer in a silver Evo who was ignoring all the rules, overtaking on corners and tailgaiting and everyone had to watch out for him. Managed to get a good look at him and he had a full camera setup in the passenger seat and made himself scarce inbetween sessions.

He left the place after the first session but came back with two more Evo's and a crew judging of bouncers judging by the size of 'em. Anyway, since he was the only one driving like this then we only had to watch for one car.

So, why did he go in the intermediate session rather than the advanced? I reckon he just wanted to get footage of himself flying past everybody else coz that car way infront of everything else on corners - even the Skyline's weren't a match!

Ian, when were you there?

Just asking because Japfest is happening as I type this...

Going through your previous posts noticed you had booked in for a Friday afternoon session. Was something happening yesterday as well? I was under the impression Japfest was today only

They had track sessions on Friday as well so it wasn't so crowded on the Saturday. Great idea if you ask me, bet they did more business overall as well.

Friday might have been ok, but today was complete pants compared to last year and the year before. Drift cars were ok, but the main highlight of the day - The TOTB cars, were nearly all turned back because of noise regs.

The Fensport Celica, Norris Design Evo, and even our own MikeJC were refused entry to the track. This was after people had entered a competition to win passenger rides in the cars.

If it's as bad as that next year, I won't bother doing again.

The Norris evo was on track leter in the day, same time as the blue impreza caught fire (was impressive until then.) Was hoping to see the MR2 on with them, didn't realise it had failed noise.
Was a shame to see the NSX roll as well, think he had for sale signs on it before going on.

Earl, saw your car in the carpark, looks good. Did you buy the headlights from ebay or through someone on here?

Didn't recall seeing your car Earl.

1st time in 5 years I didn't go. It sounds like I didn't miss much.

I am glad you had a good time on the Friday Ian 8)

Shame to hear about more "fatalities" regarding cars today - especially the NSX  But always a given at this event, it's what draws the crowds... :(
I also did forwarn about crappy marshalling too

The noise regs are due to the ongoing protests regarding noise levels at the circuit. There's been legal thing going on between local residents & the track for a number of years now. It's well documented. IIRC it noise levels were capped at 100dB last year too - quite the normal level for non-race days.

Its a joke about the residents petitioning against the noise levels. That track has been there longer than most of the surrounding houses probably have been. Besides most of the people complaining most likely moved into the area knowing there was a race track near by...

You just dont do that unless you're a total moron
