Is that why your evo is yellow? When it lets go it'll tip you into a ditch that's why you have to keep it on track!

LOL!

MR2 - 1
Evo coward - 0

hehe.

 that's pretty sad, but pretty much what I expect from this forum.

One of my mates has an Evo, and his head wont fit in my bike helmet, so I'm guessing he has a pretty big head.

lmao  i cant believe this thread is still going  what it boils down to is aidy has many faults ! but being wrong isnt one of them. he's a better driver than us and possibly better than ayrton senna was. his knowledge on anything is superior to gods. if aidy owned a datsun 120 y he wud be quicker than any of us . so to answer the thread about evo big heads , well aidy needs a big head ! after all he is the supreme being . i am amazed he honours us with his presence on this forum

I love how all these people harp on about the Mk2 Turbo being a real drivers car. How's that? Because it has two seats and a mid engined layout? MX5 is more of a driver's car!

I love my EVOs - we took a 6 to the Ring and banged in an 8:30 straight out the box - would love to see that out of an MR2!

Richard you are absolutely right, the tubby is not a drivers car by any means. Its much more of a GT/SLJ car.

I do think its pointless saying X car would lap the Ring in this time etc... there are just far too many extraneous variables.

luthor1 wrote:Aidy - yeah that's what Imeant, the Evo6 is pretty special.

I'd be very interested in the rev3 245bhp ring time and the similar £4000 evo which ever year that it, I don't know the outcome of that to be honest, I think it might be quite close.

I think that with novice drivers the evo would win by more, but as the talent of the drivers goes up and up so the times would become closer, what I mean is, it's harder to drive the MR2 to the limit, and I think that's why the perception of the ultimate performance is not necessarily representative of the 'actual' ultimate performance.

I think that's what people are trying to get across in the thread, how the MR2 is very challenging to drive

you are quite right Luthor the MR2 is very challenging to drive. This is partly due to the mid-engined layout and partly due to a compromised chassis, that actually is not that good.

A good handling car is easy to drive.

So now well handling cars are easier to drive? You've just totally contradicted yourself.

a good handling car IS NOT necesarilly easier to drive ...

eg. little old woman - choice of Metro Automatic and Lotus Elise - she'll find the metro easier to drive. nobody has ever said a metro will out handle an elise, so there ya go.

another eg. Aidy - choice of an EVO or a great big JCB. Aidy will find it much easier to dig himself a big hole with the EVO ...

another eg. Splashnatz - choice of my MR2 or aidys EVO. Splash will find the mr2 easier to drive, 'cos i know it's just outside and have no idea where aidy is ...

also aidys cartoon is of a evo driver, as the head is oversized to the shirt collar. elephantitis of the ego.

Fek me this is getting complicated.

Why don't you all just say what you really mean;

"Every characteristic of the MR2 is good. If it handles bad it is cos it is a challenging drivers car. If it is slow it is because the driver isn't skilled enough.

Every characteristic of the evo is bad. If it is fast it is cos it is easy to drive. If it handles well it is cos it is boring.

I will adhere to these facts until someone from imoc whose opinion I respect and obviously knows more than I do about driving tells me I'm being an asshat. Under those circumstances my opinion will wildey change from pillar to post, trying to placate them while not admitting the evo is the better car until it is blatantly obvious I'm just saying black when things are white so that I can win an internet argument."
