..what can i use instead of that cleaner stuff because ive used it before and you need to use loads to get it clean and costs loads has any one used anything else other than the proper cleaner ??

Ive got a HKS green mushroom that needs a good clean...what can i use instead of that cleaner stuff because ive used it before and you need to use loads to get it clean and costs loads has any one used anything else other than the proper cleaner ??

i guess you could use a mild detergent....(mild) and then thoroughly dry it. Then apply a thin spray oil like ptfe spray......to keep the muck out.
How often do you clean it. I have heard that for normal UK road use you should get away with cleaning it 3 times per year......every 6-8k miles. The correct fluid cant be that expensive can it?
