How many of you have a spare seat?
EG hitch a lift to-from campsite? - no need to worry about getting a White Parking pass!

Well I'm going to look at LeMans Tickets on Monday,
If I can get parking then I will.... but otherwise I hope I'll
be able to hitch a lift to the Race !!
It's been 5 years since I went to LeMans.

Very tempted to go to the Nurburgring 24 the weekend before as well.
It's ACE if the weather is good... Big downpour two years ago.

Nigel mansell is driving for Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari this weekend in the FIA GT championship at Silverstone, does this mean he'll possibly be driving at Le mans come june ?????
Last time i saw him race i was stood at the old hairpin at Donnington, Remember 'that' crash??

Was that the crash when he appreared in the TOCA shootout in 1996 ish?? I remember seeing in car footage of that and his head went right through the side window. Diddin't he get a nudge from Tiff Nedell into the wall sideways??
I don't thing Mansell will be at lemans, isn't the GT Championship completely different to Le Mans, I've been watching the American LeMans series this year as everyone there will be racing.
Would be great to see the legend race again though, fingers crossed.

6 weeks to go!!

Yep, that was the crash, Tiff really had nowhere to go but into the back of our Nige, but got the blame for the bump. It is the FIA GT championship next weekend, not the british gt, & dont they make up the back end of the field at Le mans with GT2 & 3?, Aston martins, Ferrari's etc? Didn't Mcrae & Loeb drive in that section in previous years? Mansell would bring experience to the team even if he's never driven long endurance races before & it seems strange to give someone like that a drive this close to such a major event. Would be good to have someone like that there, especially for the Brits travelling over there to watch?? Be that extra 'buzz' around the camp sites.

My tickets arrived today, loads of info with them and a nice plastic wallet to keep everything together that you wear around your neck.

Get your parking tickets BEFORE you go, can't stress that enough, was a joke last year trying to get parking tickets on the Friday as they were all sold out. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Lee, the hotel we are all staying in on the Monday night is called the White Rabbit in Maidstone, just off the M20. Its part of the innkeepers lodge group. www.innkeeperslodge.co.uk
Book it online if there is any room left... They do great food and have loads of guest ales, we always intend for an early night before the big trip to France but it never happens ( true Le Man spirit..!! )

Let us know if you get booked in, we should be there around 3pm.

Ok the chateau is fully booked now, however alternative camping nearby in the same village can be organised.

Less than 5 weeks now. Halford have a sale at the moment and have £5 off the price of a small gas stove at £14.99 and some of the tents are half price and include sleeping bags etc.

I have been busy acquiring all my kit for the week and I'm almost there, although I am not sure its all going to fit in the 2 thou :-k

I need to get my travel ins and breakdown cover and I'm sorted.

T-bar89, I've not revieved my tickets yet but I am sure they must be on the way.

Paul Port - I am travelling on my own so if you dont already have a ride, there will always be a spare seat in mine.

What time does everyone plan on leaving the car park to head for the ferry port ? I had planned to meet you all in the car park on Tuesday morning so I just wanted to have a rough time so I know when to get up !

I look forward to meeting you all

Regards

Hi everyone,

Have done myself a checklist as I'm so unorganized that if I didn't write everything down I would forget it. #-o

Thought I'd post it up on here so if there are people who have forgotten something it may help them out. Or if there are any regular le mans goers they may spot something I've missed!

1. Booked hotel at maidstone - need to pay on arrival. £70.00
2. Booked and paid for return ferry to Boulogne. £58.00
3. Bought AA european breakdown cover. £72.97
4. Booked camping at chateaux - need to pay on arrival. £150 ish.
5. Bought 2 x trackside tickets. £110.00
6. Bought 1 x White reserved parking pass £33.00
7. Notified insurance company of trip to france. £Free
8. Bought AA travel insurance. £28.14
9. Bought reflective jacket, warning triangle, spare bulbs, 1st aid kit and headlight deflectors.

My next task is to see if I can fit all our stuff in the mr2! Am going to have to try and hide the girl friends hair dryer  [/list]
