Yeah tbh we don't normally book this show, it's usually 1000s of Imprezas and poo driving on the track.

Japfest isn't that bad, there is track action, some drift demo's which are ok to watch and there is some stalls and stands. Personally vastly more interesting than JAE. Treat it as a bit of a social and its cool.

There are a lot of bummers in Soooobarooos though, but they dominate the whole event like they have done in past years and have been moved further away from where the majority of the show is. I think the organisers understand that people don't want to see a ocean of identical blue WRX's on gold wheels.

I have arranged a stand for eight-six.co.uk so its going to be the first time a bunch of UK 86 owners have got together for an event. A few of us are doing a track attack session so its going to be sweet hammering it around with a load of other 86's.

Look out for the white N2 :D

Earl, do you have a stand to park on? I may have a few stand spaces going if you want - only problem is you would have to park with a bunch of rusty old AE86's.

Do you have your track time booked, I booked early March and got the lalst few IIRC.

Cheers

Nah, no stand mate. I'd love to park with the 86's if that's ok James. :thumleft:

Still trying to get a place on track. Looks to be full now. :(

No worries mate, going to sort the tickets out this weekend and see whats left. Pretty sure we can squeeze you in. There will be another Mr2 on the stand so you wont be the odd one out. Would like to see the Beast!

Might also be the chance of a spare track ticket as one lad is having engine troubles at the mo and might not get it sorted. Will let you know whats happening on that one.

PM your address lad, I will post it over when I send the tickets out. :thumleft:

Just to forewarn you - IIRC, mr2mk1chick booked some tracktime with SystemG last year, and there was some seriously appalling driving from the other people there - keep an eye on your mirrors people!!

yup- as most of the cars only book 1 session they go all out to prove themselves (to be right hand jockeys). be careful, as the marshalling is not so strickt shall we say.....and no-one follows the breifing anyway.

It was similar both sessions we did, and the cars were not sorted into any class as such - just a free for all

Its split into 3 groups this time, beginner, intermediate and advanced. Me and a few other 86 owners are going out in the afternoon intermediate session.

The afternoon sessions seem to be a bit lighter on numbers, most of the crap driving I have seen is in the morning when everyone is trying to prove something to the crowds.

Should be fu as long as we all stay out of trouble, I personally dont plan on hanging around - if they can keep up then they wont be that bad a driver! :D

As said above.

Be careful on track. It's full of knob jockeys

I'd love to spend an entire day there on track, but an event like this draws a lot of bad drivers. Give me a properly organised track day there any day :thumleft:

Black Accord Type-R.

More advice regarding the same car:
Another red MK1 held him up later in the session. When we finished the session he thought it was us as well so him and his mate came chasing after us trying to pick a fight
Should have seen the look on their faces when they reached the club stand and saw more than 10 red MK1's. They couldn't tell them apart

The Accord had previously been featured in Banzia. Banzia fabricated a story around the incident too. But witnesses can verify the story was bull.
