[All] [Generic] Server Migration : 1st, 2nd and 3rd of May

Post by BenF »

Folks,

The new IMOC Dedicated Server has been commissioned earlier today, and Alex has been busy this evening moving the IMOC site to it.

It was done in such a way that there should be no further downtime and you do not have to take any action - you'll know when you're on the new site as page generation times are much faster - typically under 1 second. :D

Please also see :

If you spot any problems or see any unexpected error messages, especially at 'peak' times around lunchtime or 6-9pm in the evening, please report them in the above thread.

Please include as much information as possible about what you were doing, and the details of the URL you were accessing and we'll investigate and fix.

Cheers,

Ben.

One problem we are aware of is that the new server is a little behind the old server, so post orders might get mixed up - hopefully that will be sorted by the time you all wake up in the morning and start posting again (apart from those of you unlucky enough to still be using the old machine!)

PLEASE NOTE - WE'VE JUST RECOVERED FROM A FAIRLY SERIOUS PROBLEM, AND THE SERVER SHOULD STILL BE CONSIDERED AT RISK FOR THE MOMENT

Ok - there will be a little bit of confusion around the £ signs, which are turning ugly. The ones which were posted after wednesday will now have gone a bit wierd. The ones previous to wednesday will now be working fine.
