This is a bunch of great people coming together over the love of MR2's on an open forum. People voicing their opinions is bound to happen! After all 70% of conversation is argument

A group of enthusiasts writing messages on a computer to each other is not exactly a serious affair.......and yet a PERMANENT BAN!!!!!!!!! for Tim for voicing his opinion and....ok.....b1tching about other companies

If it were just another IMOC member disclosing said information to another....then nothing furthur would be said! Just because he is an affiliate with a tarnished record he has been targetted!!!!

I hope to see this harsh treatment lifted....but if it continues then it should be given to all those on the affiliate forum! Can anyone honestly tell me that other affiliates on here do not PM members slagging off other companies products! Its only because we don't report them......Yet just because its Tim he has been unfairly dismissed!

Where are your hearts people!!!! This is freindly conversation on the internet and arguments will always occur. Stop treating this like a bl00dy American court case where they destroy someones livelyhood on something so petty

I hope all that grassed Tim up feel some sort of remorse as i am no doubt feeling unneccessary anger towards you for acting in such a stern manner.

Like so many others on here you have waded in without knowing the full facts. Tim has not been targetted by the Committee and if any other Affiliate, trader or member is concerned about bad practices then they can use the report button or PM an Admin or Committee person. This does not coerns a friendly internet discussion, what has been taken into consideration is what happened on IMOC. If it happened anywhere else then we have not looked at it as it is not under our control. Tim knew the rules and then broke them, despite unofficial warnings about the same. He has no-one to blame but himself.

I take the view as follows: if you get caught drink driving and appear before the magistrates and try to get out the ban by telling the magistrate that you are a taxi driver - they respond by telling you that you should have been MORE careful then. This is the same as Tim. If his livlihood depends on IMOC and other MR2 clubs then he should have abided by the rules and not broken them so often. He has no-one to blame but himself.

If we give leeway on this matter then we have to give leeway on other matters and we may as well do away with the Affiliates status, trader status and let all the spammers advertise their porn and drugs through IMOC. Rules are there to give the forum cohesion. When you sign up you agree to abide by those rules or face the disciplinary procedure and consequences. If you don't like it then you don't sign up to the forum and you do not trade through it.

Period.

My only thought is that I have noticed over the last few months IMOC is in tatters.

Over time I HAVE noticed people posting personal attacks on others and nothing has been said. Ok, maybe if a complaint has been made then they may have been delt with.

If the rules have been applied here so stringently (forgive my spelling) then I would advise the mods to watch individual posts carefully (I understand quite a hard job). If noticed then they should act accordingly even if no complaint made. I know we aren't in a school playground but this forum is certainly turning into one.

What im saying here is I feel there were to many traders with same offerings on here and inevitably has irrupted.

My post is completely un-bias. But all together a sad one.

Hope IMOC can come together as a bit community again and let it lay.

In my experience IMOC isnt in tatters at all, far from it. Im guessing you have come to that conclusion by wading through these last 9 pages as there are a lot of uneccessary posts (mispell I know ). However, there are still a lot of new threads/topics on the site everyday and an ample amount of members giving info and helping people which is what this site/forum/club is all about. It is after all a car club not a debating society about whos in the right or wrong.
Everyone should read Tims email on the first page before commenting, it seems pretty clear from some earlier posts (not yours, I agree for the most part in waht your saying apart from the imoc in tatters part) that some havent bothered.
Lets get back on a decent topic of conversation MR2's!!

You gotta admit though, the old site was a much nicer place to be. No arguements, no traders, no problems. Everyone wanted to help everyone and luckily some off us old un's still do. It is a sh1tter that Tim has been banned but I don't think any ranting and raving is going to change the decision. Real shame

cheers but sadly that's my one useful post for the year! Next 364 days just ignore me lol.

I've never bought anything large from here or any mr2 site but I've read plenty of posts about kit's being bought but it not fitting hence requiring new additional parts to be bought or the kit modified to suit. Now I realise this opens a can of worms as how do you prove it over the internet but anybody advertising kits on here has no excuse for it not fitting an mr2!

Well I'm a bit late to the party Just heard about this yesterday and yes was pretty shcoked.

Read every word though and good to see its drying up, hope I'm not putting my foot in it

Firstly, I have to say I support the admin team 100% in their decision of the facts etc etc - they are the only group of people who have all the facts in their posession and made the decision for the good of the club and according to club rules, not in accordance with the law of the land. I hope the admin don't take personal comments to heart, with the position you have and decisions you must make you're bound to get all sorts thrown at you.

Business is business, politics is an integral part of it and from what I can tell Tim was not strong enough politically to be a successful affiliate here.

Must say that rules are rules, these were broken 4 times apparently and that's pretty poor on Tim's behalf, especially when its a professional matter. Must also say that this event doesn't surprise me having seen various posts over the last 2 years which included childish comments.

Please don't think I am against Tim in any way, he was the most generous affiliate on here wrt free advice and knowledge to help IMOCers out, he will be sorely missed no doubt. His work continues though, just not on here.

For me this quoted sums up the whole event and is spot on:

Until everything is agreed, I am not going to say what is happening. Tim should do the same.
His post on the OC I expect is the result of discussions that are ongoing with Tim. However, his post is based on assumptions which i currently believe to be untrue.

As it stands currently, xxxx account is banned from IMOC. There is no timetable in place to reinstate this.
