Cant wait , getting the tbar blacked out and reflective sun just for days its too cold to take the tbar off yet the sun is warm.
Both side windows tinted
Rear quarter windows blacked out..
Im having the back window left out , bit expensive atm £75 extra as theyve never done that shape before and i want the money for tuesday mid section 3" exhaust
yo dude, if u dont mind me asking how much u paying to get your car tinted? including t-bar glass? and where from? im thinking to get it tinted sumtime soon
cheers

You are wrong , its to do with the amount of light allowed into the windows
i think its 38% on side windows unsure, the tint im getting has something like 48%....
trd2000mr2 - without the rear window £150 , they are unsure about the back hence it could cost an extra £75
yeh i read somewhere that only 30% tint is allowed which is more or less not tinted! It depends on the discretion of the policeman really i think. But anyway blood uk, thats an ok price, where is that from?? some of the places i tried dont even touch the rear screen!

not sure about that matey, standard windows let less light through anyway and i thought the new rules meant that they cannot be tinted further. I could be wrong but my manager had to have light smoke tints taken out of his 5 series. He thought they were standard from BMW but he failed the light test! But i do think if you dont take the p!ss you'll be okay!
Its easier doing the rear window in 3 peices- i got a friend to do mine on my old MR2 and it was the first time he had done a screen like this. you could only see the the joins if you looked carefully but other wise it was a decent job!
Your allowed 30% vlt(visable light transfer) ie-70% tint behind the b piller,if you wanna go that dark. Not allowed to tint door windows but depends on plod.Cant tint windscreen at all!
Cant see why they charge 75 extra for the rear screen thats easier than the doors usually???
hope this helps
i used to do vinyl and vinyl tints for a living.. theyre bloody awqward. i think we used to charge 30quid for application per medium window without materials.....try searching the net on application of the film (cause i cant be bothered to waffle on)..and youre best bet is to remove the rear window and do the application yourself..itll save you a fortune too!
I think its the way the rear window curvs not only on the corners !
But the most important to me is hiding that bass box a little and stop the blinding from the sun through the tbar
not getting the back done the back looks sweet blacked out, and shouldnt cost u another 75 quid! it takes skill to do a back window but still, mine was 130 all inclusive, except the t-bar glass.
Karl
They have never done a toyota mr2 before especially the rear
i did say im not getting it done now, cause of other costs
respray and mid section of exhaust... but it will be done sometime
=D> Thanks!
Its the same with my exhaust ive got the backbox sorted, and the front part
but not the center... couldnt afford the whole thing at first, but the mid section has to be done now its got some holes its dented and rusting away
There is a pro tinter across from my unit at work and he says the rear is P$$s easy to do and in one piece.
And yes tinting of any front windows is ileagal as they are tinted anyway so by adding the lowest tint available would take it over its limit.
