Struggling to find a paint match

Post by Kipps »

Hopefully one of you chaps may be able to help me - I've got a carribean ( Spelling ? ) Blue Mr2 Turbo and its currently in peices getting rebuilt after being written off by a nice car driver who failed to stop when the Mr2 did. I've been to Toyato and got what they said was a paint match but its nothing like that colour of my car at all - Its a more darker blue than my car ?

HAs anyone tried getting a apaint match for this coour before - If so where did you get it from ??

Cheers

I suppose the problem could be that your car has faded in the sun. If you go to a decent spray shop, they should be able to match the paint with some gadget.

The only problem with that is I can't afford / refuse to pay for something when I can do it myself to a good enough standard ( Bar the colour match at the moment :( )
Car only stands me at 500 initial cost so to pay a body shop 300 - 400 almost doubles the price of the car. Which then to me takes away the reason I bought it - Cheap track car to have fun in and not worry about crashing or damaging.
I'm not after a perfect finsh either as the first gravel trap I spin into will more than likely trash all the nice paintwork that I could of potentially paid for .... Hopefully you can see why I'm reluctant to pay for the spray job.
