World Record Attempt

Post by Mr Two »

Phew!! WELL DONE EVERYONE who took part
Just got home from the above at Rockingham. Really enjoyed it! So glad i took part 8) Great atmosphere, met some really nice people too :thumleft: Was an awesome experience seeing those many "2"s all together and it made it more interesting being split up into sections according to the colour of our cars. Must say ( IMO ) there were more black "2"s than any other colour. Mind you it was v close as to whether there "might" have been more red ones
I would hazard a guess that around 250 cars turned up. Shame really as i saw the list on here for approx 450 to turn up
I've taken lots of pics so i'll pick the best and post them on here later :thumleft:

Yes, I have loads! \:D/ Will post them up shortly....

Unfortunately I don't think it was a record :( I believe Lotus did one of these recently and got 313! I believe we got 296, how close is that! ](*,)

Anyway it was a super day and nice to meet up with loads of friends! :thumleft:

EDIT: Here's one, will resize the rest later:

Mods feel free to move it

Was a great day, we certainly have the record for the most MR2's in a rolling convoy, but if Lotus have got 313 then obviously we were just shy!!

Apoligies for the few that I led the wrong way on way to the infield  I blame the guy in front who ragged it off and the lack of signs

We got there in the end though :thumleft:

That was a fantastic day out - what a brilliant sight to see all the MR2s!
Many thanks to the organisers, and congratulations whatever the 'official' view - getting that many MR2s together in one place was great, so well done to you guys for all the work you put in!

Going to go sort out the photos and see what the video from the bullet cam was like now... :)

Edit: I must add, it was great to catch up with the members again after such a while - and of course to finally get a chance for a proper drive in the MR2... it's been a long winter...
Although not too happy about the granny who almost drove into the side of me when I was on the motorway when she decided to overtake another car... Damned motorways.

Just to confirm things we have broken the world record for the most MR2S in a rolling convoy, the previous record was held by the Netherlands club they achieved 162.Once i have submittted all the documentation required by GWR they will inform me of there verdict.
