I'll start by joining everyone in congratulating Andrew on what we believe to be the first MR2 10 second quarter mile pass in the UK.

Secondly to SimonW who set the bar early on with an 11.04 which I didn't capture on video and finally AndyF with an 11.71 which I did!

Andy's run is against the second quickest car of the day

- he managed a very business-like 10.8 earlier on.

All of the MR2 runs I managed to capture are here:

They're mostly of Andrew because he put in a
huge
amount of runs and we seemed to be in the paddock when Andy and Simon were running.

I still find myself amazed at the abuse Andrew's car went through and yet still drove over 200 miles home without a murmur.

That said, the rubber bushes on the exhaust hangers got torn out and a boost line to the actuator melted so it wasn't all without incident!

Andrew's MR2 is his daily driver, and the first couple of runs shown on the video are in road trim.

As the day went on we stripped out the seats and fitted a single lightweight bucket, removed the rear spoiler, switched to race fuel and finally swapped over to drag radials.

You should be able to spot the point where Andrew decides to try out the launch control feature in his Link G1 ECU

- can you imagine switching that on for a traffic light GP?! The last dyno run at Thor showed 539bhp and 415lb/ft at the hubs on race fuel and both the map and cam timing have been tweaked since then so we feel confident in quoting a 600bhp flywheel figure.

Congratulations are also due to the guys at Rogue who made this happen

- Tony for engine design and build, Lyndon for electronics and mapping and Matt for making everything fit together, along with Dean and Ryan in the workshop.

Andrew's next goal is to hit 200mph, and he's dreamt up another challenge for once that's complete.

But I'll let him explain that one himself.
