Coilover height adjustment tool

Post by Andrew Edwards »

I have just become the proud owner of a set of JIC coilovers. However, as they came from ebay i do not have the tool needed to adjust the height.
Not sure if these are a universal thing but i was wondering if anyone had one knocking about that i could borrow/buy?
really want to get them on but want to be sure i can adjust the height just in case!!!
alternatively, is there a way to do this without the tool? sorry if its obvious

If its just got the holes in the sides i normally find an allen key or similar suffices. this is what i used to set up ride heights on 340r/elises and like.

Its two rings with little notches every inch or so.
looks like i need some sort of big spanner type tool with teeth to match the notches.

If its anything like my Teins, you will need a C-spanner (or 2 of them maybe).

Demon Tweeks sell the C spanners. They have 3 different types, a universal one and two other sizes. Best thing to do is measure the radius of the rings on the coilovers and then give Demon Tweeks a ring. I think the normal C spanners are around a fiver. The universal one is about £12.

i found i had very worn coilovers on one of my old cars, i never had the c spanner (but are very common) i just sprayed the threads with WD40 left for a while, then put a rag around the adjusters with the car jacked up and was able to turn them easy.
