red rag to a vauxhall driver

WHAT is it with vauxhall drivers and women driving sports cars, went out
in the MR2 with my wife driving and it's like a red rag to a bull, they never seem to do it to me , but she gets cut up,pulled out in front of and at junctions is treated like schumacher.
she told me lots of times what happens and I thought she was talking rubish, but going out with her driving I can see it, astras,vectras,corsas
they have all one thing in common VAUXHALL BADGE.
bmw,porsche,rover,ford,nissan etc seem ok.
anybody else go out with wife/girlfriend notice it or is just on merseyside. :evil:

One thing I cant stand is when someone drives up behind you when your going 60-70mph....they are itching to get past....I just take my time....I do find though that a lot of the time its young girls in their Corsa's....travelling up the A5 to MK everyday I get it a lot......

It's the car mate that attracts the attention...you'll always get it.......used to get it all the time in my FTO and Prelude.
'cept when they used to try it on with me when I had the lude...they used to lose..(unless they had something quicker..in which case I'd not try) it was a de-badged (modded)JDM 2.2 vtec with 205bhp.... :lol:

MR2's have that presence on the road....nice to see...attract chavs etc.... :(

Had this today. Outside lane, car in front of me so i'm not going anywhere despite wanting to actually do the speed limit. A white Mitsubishi revulsion 6 trying to crawl in the holes in my exhaust wanting me to tail the car in front...

lol, being a part time vauxhall driver, i dont really get up to any of these shenanigans.... although when i am in the mr2 and get a tailgaitor on a motorway, i pull over and soon as the middle or first lane clears and then blow them away. they dont try anything after that :twisted:

If someone tailgates me i just get out of the way at the first opportunity. I'd much rather have them in front of me where i can see them.

I noticed it almost from the day I bought my 2, very few non 2 drivers let you out at junctions, everybody in a smaller car seems to have to get past you what ever the cost...

And, yes it generally is the Nova/Corsa/Fiesta/Escort/Vectra brigade...

Can't say i've ever noticed really. Maybe i just ignore it to the point where i don't notice anymore.

When they drive like that it means they are crap drivers. Crap cars crap drivers.
The people who have these cars that arent crap drivers are the ones that drive sensibly and have nice examples of each car. ie standard, not chavved up, not driven incorrectly, no bits hanging off it etc.

I think generally though some men do take it as a personal affront if they see a woman driving a 'sporty' car - the amount of times people have overtaken me in stupid places or even just to get one car in front in a long queue (particularly in my old MR2 turbos, don't get it as much now in the Skyline, probably because the average vauxhall kn0b doesn't realise what it is).

As Lauren says, I've nothing to prove so fine, let them get on with it. My only beef is when they do that then go slower than you would've gone once they are in front.

I agree with you there Toni. It's like that film Duel...with Dennis Weaver. he gets past the lorry and slows etc then the lorry does it....g-ing each other on....silly really.

BTW Toni...your only a little way from me...Im in Dunstable. Quite often pass through Caddington way to go into Luton...the back way....which end of Harpenden are you. :D

Once was waiting at the lights, girl in her shiny new Beetle revving away, looked over... phwoar! She's fit! Anyway, I let her burn it off and round the bend! SNAP! She gets her photo taken! Tut tut, should have known the road better lady. Once we pass the camera I burn it past her, she gave me the finger!
