Tyres... again!

Post by Rev2_mike »

I guess i know what you folks are going to say but here goes: As ive spent far too much this month im looking at tyres that dont cost the earth, options are nangkang at around £75 per corner or if i spend a bit more then its toyo proxes for £118. I dont really rag my car or push it antwhere near its limit, is it actually worth the extra £90 odd for the toyos?

proxes are p1sh mate! I had them on the rear of my std rev3 turbo and they were absolutely pants

F1's great dry grip and awesome wet grip. Not worth being cheap on tyres or buying rubbish ones, I had the s version of the proxes so can't comment on the new r but I aint buying them ever :D

Same size as me, you'll get the proxes for less than £80.

Fair point having just looked. Mytyres are doing them for £98.80 though.

Good prices here.

Have heard very good things about Kumho 712's on the MR2oc so i ordered myself a pair of 17's.

Would say give them a go on the reviews theyve been getting on there.
Plus they are alot cheaper than some others.

Can't say this was my experience at all...although I did find a bit less pressure improved them. I'd never try mixing tyres front-to-rear these days - I only replace with the same brand or a full new set.

Just changed over to the T1-Rs from my old T1-S's - suspension is $hagged :( so a bit hard to tell but they seem OK so far. I couldn't actually get F1s in the sizes I wanted at the right time so missed my chance to give them a try.
