Do it! bring it along, give you a starting point, not sure whether they could accommodate any remapping etc if they were forewarned?

Heh, cheers - tempted to, but I really need a couple of hours of dedicated mapping time.

I'm installing a Profec e-01 boost controller this weekend, and then need to get it remapped for 10psi again. The Roadster ECU is fully leaning, and so what you can find is that piggybacks like the Unichip / eManage etc will 'fight' against the Toyota ECU map and you end up with a map that is too lean as the ECU removes fuel - this is what I think I've got at the moment as the top end currently is too lean. Hopefully this can be sorted ;)

Come along anyway Ben even if your not going on the rollers, quite a few coming along to spectate.

Firm times will be posted up in the next few days, as its this Saturday!!

Any last minute folks joining us if you could send your £20 deposit to Deposit to: payments @ mr2only.com ASAP, as Im firming up the numbers with Nick at DSA tomorrow lunchtime, and forwarding on the deposits.

Im sure there will be capacity on Saturday to get your MR2 on the rollers if we have any last minute change of minds.

Looking forward to this!!

Cheers Steve, but I'm afraid I've got to raincheck this one - I'd not really like to get the car on the rollers with the boost wound up and fry a valve or piston top. I could bring the Mk1, but believe me, its not pretty and certainly shouldn't grace the pages of MR2 Only - unless you fancy taking on another restoration project ? ;)

Once I've had the Unichip remapped for 10psi of boost things should get interesting.

Ok Ben no worries, catch up at some point soon, Id be interested to see what bhp our mk1 track car is but its quite a trek to make with no tunes, so its probably a job for the mk2, which I wont be putting on the rollers as it wont have changed from last time.

Right guys, just spoken to Nick at DSA, we have eleven confirmed names paid up, if we could make our way to DSA before 9 on Saturday, first car will be called on to the rollers at 9am, then you will be shouted up, as Nick is drawin up a plan. as there is only 11 or so, there might be a few spaces at the end for anyone that wants to get on the rollers later.

Ive gotta drive all that way with no tunes Steve!!!!!!

Might be worth sticking the mk1 on there tbh, to get a feel for the health of the engine and as a start point for tuning over the course of the year, just a thought.

Why does everything happen at once? A seem to have developed an occasional miss on the engine, so have been trying to sort out some new ignition leads. The ones I ordered from the states has just turned into a nightmare experience - they have charged me TWICE, over a month and still no sign, and no reply via email or phone...

...anyhow, thats being sorted via the CC company. Anyway, been tied up with work this week, so only just managed to get down to the local toyota dealer to order a set of leads from there. No problems there - but they won't be in until saturday at the earliest, probably around midday.

Did create a crowd of their mechanics around my car though when I explained the V6 leads were for my mr2..

Also spotted my rear tyres are some what...erm.. low. Also tried getting some new Toyo's ordered in from my usual good tyre place - to find that the won't be able to get them in until monday.

Talk about bad timing?

Will I be stopped going on the RR if the rear tyres are on/below the limit? They are on the markers at the mo, not going bald yet.

Yep, hope to soon:) FWIW, I've got the boost controller installed and there's audible det @ 8psi :pale: so it does need a good remap.

Know what you mean FizzyBlueMr2! its called the law of Sod! #-o

Think you will be all right on the rollers, worst case scenario if anyone else is along with standard wheels maybe you could borrow them just to go on the rollers?! :)

Right Im going to check Tom Tom to see how long the trips going to take me, and charge up the old iPod as im going to brave the journey in the MR2 Only Mk1 track car project!

Hope you get sorted soon Ben, im saving my pennies for a roadster and turbo conversion ever since I drove that SP240!

Steve- for the Mk1, fill it with Super and if there is time run it and then try advancing the timing very slightly (~1-2deg) for a second run later and see what improvement you get, but ask them to check for det on the power runs. I saw a (slightly optimistic) 130bhp from my Mk1a by doing this at Engine Advantages.

If you don't mind running Super, its potentially a nice cheap power gain - if you haven't already done this :)

Yes, always tend to put Optimax type stuff or equivalent higher octane petrol in it, its just been treated to Magnecor leads, new dis cap, rotor arm, plugs, oil and a K&N type of air filter as well, might try advancing the timing a tad if we get chance, little fella has done 150k so dont want it to pop, im hoping to make the trip to Germany in it in June, as well as a few more track days before!

cheers Ben! :thumleft:

Looks like I'm going to have to duck out guys. Got a pretty bad exhaust blow thats proving difficult to resolve, and I'm not going to chance making things any worse doing power runs on the dyno.

Sorry guys. Gutted. :(

Well, I've just filled up with a tankfull of optimax, and ready to go - shame I didn't have chance to wash the car tonight though.

Still, as I'm having to travel 161miles to get there (approx 2 hrs 51 mins according to google maps) its just gonna get dirty again. ;)

I'll try and get there for 9 am as requested, but I may be a little later depending on how early I can get myself up!
