Horrible story - the stuff of nightmares.....

Post by brummypetepie »

Morning all,

Thought Id let you all know why Im currently the most pi&&ed of MR2 owner living in Wlsall at the moment.....

Went to the car yesterday morning, still a bit fuzzy headed from the night before, it was exactly where I left it so I jumped in, she started fine, sounded lovely, the sun was out, nice day I thought......

Drove around the corner, suddenly heard a horrible grinding and screeching noice on a left turn, ar&e, so jumped out and had a look, something didnt sound right.........

Walked to the front drivers side and was greeted by a smashed in wing which was rubbing on the tyre on full lock - hence the grinding noise when going round the bend! Some absolute to$$er, who should be shot and doesnt have the right to be breathing on this planet had driving straight into my wing overnight and just f***ed off.....gutted, seriously seriously gutted.

To be honest I dont know how I didnt notice it getting into the car, but like I said, my head was a bit fluffy from the night before.

It does my head in that some git has just thought "ah well" and driven off, leaving me to pay out for a new wing

As a grown man of 25, there are only a few things that will bring a tear to my eye, namely a swift kick in the knackers and someone messing with your car......if Id have caught the ba$tard, hed have more than a dent in their fin car.....

The worst thing is that I dont want to claim on my insurance as itll cost me more than the £100 or so to fix it on my policy next year.......ahhhhhhhhhh!

So, Im now on the look out for a drivers side wing, preferably Jap with the toblerones so it matches the other side, oh, and if its in black Ill be over the moon!

Sorry, rant over, needed to vent my frustrations with a group of like minded people!

Dont tell the insurnace company (if you do use them) that you were fuzzy headed.... [-X .
Shame about the wing. prolly someone without insurance.....or yobs. Most decent motorists will stop out of courtesy. Ask the neighbours if they heard /saw something. An impact as you describe would have made some noise.
Failing that it's scrappies etc. Dont say what car you have mate.......if you tell us then someone on here might have one for ya..
Good luck.

Ive heard this happen many of time to people who dont park on driveways or in garages, run the highest risk of leaving out in the street, Sorry to hear what happened but as is the way with us humans we tend to sleep through stuff like that.

Damn annoying :(

I'm not surprised!

9 out of 10 motorists on the road today will drive away if they can get away with it.
A friend of the G/F lives in Caldmore area of Walsall and has had the drivers wing mirror removed 5/6 times now. No-one ever stops to give details.

There is genenrally NO respect for anyone or their property these days.

Recently,I'm in Tesco car park, I'm leaning over into the passenger footwell getting my steering wheel lock and there is a clunk from the passenger door. I look up and a guy and his missus are getting out of their Audi TT. I open the door and walkk round to assess damage. The woman gives me a right mouthful and the guy starts ranting. I just let them walk away and then keyed his fu£$ing piece of xxxx car right down to the metal.
Generally, I'm an easy going guy but that level of disrespect p1$$e$ me off. The Jerry Springer brigade I'm afraid - "All rights but NO responsibilities"

Oh, BTW you're right the ba£$%rds should be shot.

I'm pretty easy going too, but if someone opens their door onto my car, it gets my back right up. I find my house key is pretty good at making mega deep scratches. Got a brand new A8 the other day - front wing, both doors, all the way back to the rear bumper. He had it comming...

What we've all got to remember on situations like this is that we (as car enthusiasts) are in the minority...because we actually care about the condition of our cars. The majority of people view their cars just as a form of transport, and thus don't give a monkeys if they damage it or cause damage.

Deliberately keying someone else's car is utterly disgusting behaviour. You have caused willful damage to another person's property (whether they care about it or not) in a revenge situation. You won't teach the other person a lesson, and risk them getting further revenge on your car - or another MR2 if they don't remeber your car exactly.

That is the most knob thing I've ever read on these boards. Even more than the guy driving at 140 on public roads.

Hi all

Thanks for the comments, nice to know that it gets other peoples backs up and pi$$es people right off too.

Thanks for the offers of spare wings, Ive already got my hands on one off here - £25 and should fit nicely - result!

All I need now is a new toblerone - they go on the bumper dont they?

Oh yeah, the fuzzy headedness wasnt down to the beer, Ive got a bout of tinnitus (or something like that) so Ive got a right ringing in my ears at the mo and everythings a bit fluffy!

Gotta agree here! If you key someone's car, REGARDLESS of what they've done to yours, then you're no better than they are.

Better off kicking 10 shades of merde out of the owner of the car rather than stooping to the same level as them, and ultimately more satisfying. :D

at the end of the day, if somebody wanted to start something with me (or my car/house/cat) - i would finish it. for years i was like nearly everybody else, oh you can't do that, it'd make you as bad as them etc.

BUT FACE FACTS - there are some people that won't learn unless the lesson is harsh enough for them not to forget it.

Similar thing happened to a guy I know. The woke up to a massive smash. And found there car about 20 foot up the road with a toyota avensis light embeded into the front of it. There car was a old micra and the impact was hard enough to put a jerry can through the parcel shelf.
The police can and recon the impact was from someone who left the pub (just round the corner) and was at at least 40mph. But howerver it was must has limped home with one seriously messed up car and there air bags up. Of course no one saw anything and the police just dont have time to deal with a seroius car crash do they?

Sorry to hear that mate! There just some real tossers in this world who think it is perfectly fine to damage someone else property and think "ah well" and drive off FFS :x  :x

What is with people these days? This forum is even full of idiots who would key other people cars because they are too cowardly to confront the owners!

I'm so hard, I damaged an inanimate object. Cars can't fight back!

I would never dream of keying someone elses car. I'd sooner have it out with the muppet who did the damage.

FFS, grow up #-o

there is no excuse for keying someone's car.

if the person is there have it out with them. if the damage is sufficient then take their details or if they won't give them to you then take the car details and deal with it through the insurance. that's what you pay for.

what happens if its the wrong car? if there's white paint on your door and a white car next to you, doesn't make it their fault. could be coincidence that there is a different car of the same colour next to you. your then just doing to someone else what has happened to you.

besides which some car parks have cameras. i don't want to be in court for criminal damage and receiving a fine for doing something as petty as that.

besides which, mos tof us drive cars that are fairly noticeable, big exhausts, custom spoilers etc. if you live in the area its not exactly going to be difficult for a determined person to find your car at some point and return the favour, probably with some added broken windows / lights.

or worse, they could take it out on someon else's 2. fancy explaining that one at the next 2 meeting?

nuff said.
