Le Mans -B I G W A R N I N G ! ! ! !

Post by Noisyhooligan »

Hi all, just to warn everyone, whether it concerns you or not.

When there is a big motorsport event at Le Mans, the Gendarmes are razor sharp at the ports on the North and North West coast of France and they are sh!t hot on alcohol testing (right off the boat), document checking (it is a legal requirement to carry ALL your paperwork from license to registration and insurance docs) and of course...speed enforcement (particularly in villages). This warning comes to you from an MR2 and Fireblade owner living in France 40 mins away from Le Mans. Please do watch out, but ejoy Le Mans - I may see you there.

The French bike Grands Prix is in on at Le Mans on the 20th May - great action on 2-wheels and 50K plus bikes descending on Le Mans...

H.

PS has anyone got a door lock mechanism spring spare? 8)

Hi everyone,

I am heading down this year on the Thursday morning. Hopefully taking an MR2 - just need to find the right one \:D/

Le mans really is a fantastic event, I spend the whole year looking forward to it and its less than a week long! I put a coundown on my google homepage, so everyday I can get even more over excited

Youre definitely right about the speeding and drinking, its not worth it - although it can be easy to get carried away on the run down

Last year one of our group discovered the night before leaving ](*,) that his passport had expired! Still managed to get across, and even though he was pulled and let off, they didnt notice this, it was only noticed going through brit customs on the way back :pale: luckily the officer liked the car

Should be a good year this one, maybe I will see some of you there :thumleft:

Ps, were staying in chateau d'loire

PPS, here are a couple of vids from last year to get in the mood :D

Aye Lee you were that hammered trying to chat up the Chateau's French bar staff you probably don't remember dong it.

That was a brilliant night, I think it was the Thursday before the race, can you remember we took over the Chateau's bar gazebo and brought our own crates over. You were drinking with little Stuart all night. I think you mistook one of the wooden picnic benches for a loo. Was so funny....

By the way it looks like Domonique will be drafting more nieces to help out in the bar again this year so fresh haircut and some new aftershave should do the trick...

Can anyone give me some idea of how much the camp site is likely to cost? Is it 'per person' or 'per pitch' or 'per car'?
Thank you
