MK1a 67500 miles from new original bodywork

Post by eRATic »

I am selling my C reg MK1a due to purchase of another MK1.

It is a 2 owner car with a genuine 67500 miles on it with full service history up to 51k(when i bought it) then serviced by me every 6000 miles.

The car is red and the arches are all original and still have no rust on them.

Whilst owning the car i have renewed the following:-

Front brake calipers with Celica ST165 twin piston ones
Front discs with mk1b discs - 2000 miles ago
poly bushes all round
Koni adjustable suspension - 1500 miles ago.

The wheels will be the original triangles with good/new Pirelli's all round and the spare is still the original have only done 15 miles ever.

The bad points:-

The car was in London until i bought it and has 3 or 4 big scratches on the bonnet and side. These do not go the the metal and are not rusting.

There are 3 small dent in the car. the worst is on the rear under the lights. it has taken the paint off and is rusty but i think it will pop out. the rust is surface only.

It needs a new clutch. It will get you home but be gentle with it.

The paint does fade (it is red) to pink if you dont polish it enough.

Apart from that the car really is in a fantastic condition that drives like new car.

still for sale. Had one silly offer but am happy to talk on price. Would it make much difference if it had a new clutch in it?

feedback appreciated.

Toby, I've seen this car, and would say it's really worth you going to see it if you're interested. It's a good, clean car. I'm sure Martin would be happy to put it through MOT as I've no doubt it would pass (and I'm pretty sure that it's got one at the moment too, but I've no idea how long it's got left on it).

i think the mot runs out in may but can't imagine it would fail. will put it through a test so it will be sold with 12months mot and tax till november.

cant test it for a couple of weeks though as busy next weekend.
