[Mk2] [NA] What's it worth?

Post by cam »

I have a 95 rev 3 T bar with 17" BBS wheels 138k miles, just failed it's MOT on emissions and front wheel bearing. I am just getting fed up working on it, can anyone put a value on it? ](*,)

doesnt sound to bad, emissions is usaully something like the o2 sensor and the wheel bearings arent to expensive
even paying someone else to do the work you would probably get more for it with an mot than without and needing work

I suppose you are right. when I checked the nut on the wheel bearing I also found the strut was leaking (don't know how they missed that at the MOT), it also failed on a fog light and I can't get into it to change the bulb. It is starting to wear me down.

You need to put some pics up i reacon to get a rough price!

Colour, import/uk, condition of the leather, bodywork, tread on the tyres, knocking suspension etc etc all would have a bearing on the value.

Have a look on the autotrader site, theres normally lots of 2's on there to get a guide price.

For the wheel bearing and lambor sensor, if thats whats up with it, it shouldnt be more than £150 to fix.

As for the strut, if yours hasnt got the re-buildable shocks and you dont put a second-hand one, your looking at £100 + for one strut + labour, but you should replace the other one too, thats what garages normally recomend.

Without an MOT i would expect to pay £500 less than one with a MOT and you'd be hard pushed to sell it quickly without one too.

Good lucks :thumleft:

Dont sell without an MOT, I wouldnt pay £500 for it without one. The wheel bearing is a cheap job and the emmissions will probably be fairly easy to diagnose and fix. Definatly worth fixing and then selling or keeping as 138k is not that high of a mileage for an mr2, there are loads more on here with much higher numbers on the clocks. :D
