immature, crazy, stupid, mad, face slapped, people pi$$ed.my story :)

Post by vishpish »

rite ok now i tend to attract abuse usualyy because i deserve it :D...im 17, im doing law at glasgow uni, i spend a spare 20hrs a week selling kitchens in a call centre to people who dont want em and i stay with my mum an sis and yasssss i own an mr2!!

so your probably thinking one of three...wankk prickk or idiot. or all three, but hey well i didnt mean to buy her it just happened. ok i wanted an mr2 and i had like 2500 saved up from previous jobs etc and wanted a tubby but realising my total stupidity(mid january) i gave my money away to my uncle. i trust the man, and i knew it was away from my sight. so with the weekly earnings coming in, i nearly bought a paseo, but after a drunken night out, my mum refused to drive me up to buy the car, so it didnt happen. then my mate called me, saying he found a civic eg which he was on the lookout for....in his rare blue and whilst talking to the guy, he mentioned my love for celicas and 2's....knowing behold he had a project mr....which sounded hot heheh.

6th february- a day ill never forget!my mate bought his civic, with an mot service history everythin workin and i bought my 2 with a busted 120amp fuse, windows down, no test of electrics or engine or anything really and all it looked was very hot, no rust at all on most of her and a bit of tread on the tyres and a hot looking engine :D and more shades of red than a bumper crayola pack :) but for £400 i couldnt complain because i couldnt afford anything else heheh.

wondered if anyone had been as crazy?

mid february - so i got her towed to the first provisional home(my mates house because my garage was up a slope and without an engine there was no getting there and the handbrake didnt work to my horror!). i connected up the battery and to my absolute happiness and smile the pop up headlights worked!!!guys what a feeling, no really!! i got a lot of stick from a 12yr old car enthusiast who laughed at my mr, i wanted to make him see the light :) heheh so i did...

anyway i had 3 weeks to get well the engine to start or it was goodnight. so i went down to the scrappy and got myself a selection of fuses the big ones heheh and plugged them in. and then the light came on :D and the electrics worked....what an amazing feeling....the windows went up and i could bathe her!!most of the lights worked brake fog and the Electric mirrors yassss what a machine!!my sisters 2005panda doesnt have electric mirrors!!

then the next stage - the engine!! so i seeked some mr2 wisdom and i have johnm400 and paul@woodsport for this as well as my mates! we all kinda thought the Cobra stickers on the car might indicate an old immobiliser stoppin the engine from starting....the guy had put on a starter button and didnt really know too much!so i got the starter relay out and plugged in two nails into the relevant sockets and then chugchugchug of the starter motor and WOW can u believe it!!it was 930,my mate was inside watchin tv in his dressing gown(he is a very fat guy, sits about a lot!) and i ran and nearly smashed his window with excitement!!

so then it was all about trying to get the engine firing....so the imoc guys suggested the removal of the immobiliser what we all kinda thot!so i followed the wire in and found the Cobra box and this is what we did...

so with the cobra mauled heheheh which was fun like really we kicked it about the lawn and stomped on it and u remember when i sed my mate was fat!! so then i got my old soldering kit from physics and burnt my hand 3 times and then soldered the old toyota wires back. there was a red one a brown ad black one and a thick white one. i did them all and still nothing. at this stage i had a week and was running out of time....all the effort could be wasted. then i took apart the wires, cut off a we chunk off the white wire where the old immobilser wire cut in and then resoldered again. i then asked the eg civic mate to try the button just to hear the starter motor, and he refused "in case something happens", we argued for 5mins and then i pushed it seeing a yellow fan symbol on the speedo/dash bit.oblivious to that, the engine started BRMMMMMMMMMM and i went AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and woke up the fat mate and his mum with the sound of my 2l!!!sorry :( heheheheh

that day was some day! i know everyone here probably has an moted up to date beautiful mr nicer than mine, by far, but id pick mine anyday just because of the progress in such a time with such lack of knowledge!!!

the next stage was taking her down to the mot centre literally across the road from my mates house, and of course i did a wee inspection before driving her...checked gears, pads, and previous reciepts and tyres...seemed all good and what a drive late at night it was...across the road!! anyway ill let everyone digest the first part of this saga.ill put up chapter 2 in a couple of days when my 2 met the MOT man hehehehe ;) thanks for reading!!hope you accept me, kinda..im a bit of a traitor but heres the best pic of her ;)

Thats what it's all about mate. No better feeling than the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
