MK1b Coupe for sale -one of the best

Post by johnp »

1989"G" Coupe in light blue metallic. Owned by me for three years and previous lady owner for ten years. 51K miles with history. Superb mechanical condition and rust-free body. Only corrosion (slight) was on rear wheel arches, but new repair sections have been welded in, other rust prone areas are completely sound.
Very recent expenditure includes tyres, clutch,KYB shocks all round and stainless exhaust.Cam belt changed at 44K miles. Recent service and MOT to March 2008.. Immaculate interior and all electrics working as they should. Toyota alarm and remote locking, original electric aerial, sunroof shade and carpet mats.HPI clear.
Requires nothing and ready for the summer.
Faults ? After the arch repairs, the car was resprayed by a friend in the trade to what I would say is a reasonably good standard, however the paintwork could not be described as " concours" . However compared to the average car, it is very smart.
Price?I think because of its low mileage with history, super mechanics and rust -free condition it is worth at least £2000, perhaps quite a bit more ,but how do you value these cars now? Please come and see it and if you like it make me a reasonable offer.

The car has been advertised elsewhere for a few weeks and pictures have been sent out a few times (it looks perfect in the pictures)----but it needs people to see it!!
Anyway,it would be great if someone could call for a chat and then I could e-mail them some pictures.
I'd rather it went to someone on here for a fair price than have to put it on Ebay.

Hi John

Can I come and have a look, I'm only near Matlock.

Could I suggest you put some photos on the web somewhere, and then you could give us some links to the photos ... :)

Marc

I've just been to see John's Mk1, and it is just as he says, but wonderful! Pale blue, verifiable mileage of 51k, if you're after a wonderfully clean excellent example of a Mk1 definitely have a look. It's not concourse, but it is *really* lovely. I was just sorry I'm looking for a track car, so it was too good for me as I want something I can get scratched and not worry about it.

Thanks Marc for taking the time to come and see my car. Your comments were much appreciated. I am trying to get some pictures organised very shortly.

John, how are you getting on with this sale? Don't let it drop below 2.5, as I said to you I think it's a snip!! And I must have looked at 200+ adverts for Mk1s and viewed 3 of them now.

Hello Marc.Have someone interested in the car but he is a long distance away and due to various committments cannot come to view until April 20.He has sent me a deposit(returnable) so he is serious.
If anyone else is interested and not too far away then they would still be wellcome to come and see it and be next in line after April 20.
Regards,
John.
