Wanting to sell...

Post by Billyboy1978 »

As above it is time for the car to go to make way for a GT4 possibly! Question is how do you go about pricing up the car to sell? I know your all gonna say look at other prices and I have tried this however I cant get rid of it!! Its a 93 Turbo red 70000 mls had lots of work done ie clutch, heater matrix pipes, brake discs, shockers, timing belt etc totally standard car. Couple of problems in that the alloys are messy and the splitter needs resprayed. I have been advertising for about 3500 but no one has come close even had some guy trying to px a volvo!!!
So what am I to expect for it perhaps someone who has just bought one can tell me what they paid for it??

Thanx

The price sounds about right from what you've mentioned, although the alloys/splitter issue could sway things a couple of hundred.

Just be patient. I've sold loads of cars over the years, with many sitting on Autotrader (or wherever) for weeks without a sniff...and then suddenly loads of interest.

How about posting some pictures of your car - showing the alloys & splitter - so we could give you a better evaluation?
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

One tip, don't list all the work or new bits that its had replaced. People tend to think its been a money pit.

Dont think I will bother with ebay prices are crap on there! I would have thought telling people it has had all the usual bits that break replaced would be a good thing but you maybe have a point! I dunno how to post piccies on here but take it from me the alloys are a right state (probably beyond repair) and I have been quoted about 30 quid to get the splitter sorted. I will get that done soon and see if it improves my chances any.

If they ask, then you can say its been replaced... but I wouldn't list up-front all the bits that have been done... it just tends to put people off; seeing a list of parts ... they tend to think 'what else needs doing if all that has been done then?'...
