[Mk2] [Generic] Amp install

Finally tidied up the front trunk of my 2 today.

The amp had been sitting round for ages in front of the spare, so I mounted it to the side using a spare ABS bracket bolt, the spare tyre holder frame and my own bracket from underneath.

I ditched that plastic surround cover ages ago - I found it just gets in the way when I need to get at something.

I'm quite chuffed with the results - I can still slide the spare out easily too.

Can you fit a standard wheel in there if you had to use your spare?

I've never tried fitting a stock wheel in to be honest... I don't think it would fit even with an empty frunk - well not screwed down anyway. If the tyre was flat it might fit in the boot?

I saw pics of that install before I started. It does look very tidy indeed.

However, I decided it wasn't for me as I actually keep quite a bit of stuff up front (tool kit, first aid kit, jump leads etc), plus I wanted to be able to check the fluids and get at the spare and battery easily.

And it looked a lot more work of course.

I shamelessly copied Chris's design but had mine hinged so that I can lift it up and access the spare tyre, battery etc., I also have plenty of room beneath the amps to store the toolkit etc.
