Wing off now, wing and side repeater kindly given to me for nothing by Eric who has a phenomonal Verranti (spelling?) MR2 based car that is drop dead gorgeous, thanks Eric and Wendy for supplying me with those and a cup of coffee :) .

I have sourced the tie rod mount which has bent, now looking for a O/S or pair of front struts (mine is unfortunately bent).

I am really looking forward to running this car, I'm quite excited about it LOL.

Wings off, as can be seen from the side on views the geometry is somewhat way out. I have bought another MR2 to use as a donor vehicle for the parts I need. I shall be stripping the car down for spares to try and recuperate my money.

This is the donor car for the bits I need to put my G-Ltd back on the road.

Looks a sweet car but..... it has a few problems, I can't believe the guy before me drove the car with the set of front tyres it has on it, the sidewalls are completely perished and the tread is almost non existant. One rear tyre is brand new but the other is almost as bad as the front pair. The screen has a crack running through it almost from one side to the other. His ex gf decided to key a large X on the bonnet and down every panel on the passenger side. Apart from a couple of minor doinks in the body work its pretty good. The clutch loses pressure and the vehicle creeps forward after a minute or two, probably loss of hydraulics/leak in m/cylinder, because you can pump it back to pressure again. Motor sounds fairly sweet though. TBH I sort of regret pulling it apart for spares but needs must and all that. Its a J reg'd Gti, as I am new to MR2's I have no idea what revision it is but I am guessing 2? If anyone needs any bits of it or wants the car minus the parts I am taking off it let me know.

Its a rev 1 and maybe a uk car too.

I'd fix that one too! Would probably be cheaper!

Yeah I have been kinda thinking the same way. I wouldn't like to see it scrapped. I may look for a few bits for it to finish it off. I did take the spanners to it today and it no longer has a drivers side mac strut or chassis mount for the tie rod. On the up side I am just waiting on my sprayer to deliver my wing as the G-Ltd is only pining for that, the rest is done bar an oil/filter and coolant change. Then its a trip to have it 4 wheel laser aligned and an MOT.

Got to the workshop today at lunch time and found to my delight that the sprayer had dropped off my wing. He's done a great job on it, so good now the rest of the car needs a damn good polish to match the new paint :( . I have installed the wing and all ancillaries except for the inner wing which is tomorrows job. I still have the rear discs to clean up, oil change, coolant swap, 4 wheel alignment and an MOT to pass.
