As title really this unit is under the drivers seat and has the stereo aerial going into it just wondered what it did ?
the car is a 1990 G-Limited with the active speaker set up
there isn't one on a mates import car and there isn't one on my UK car (its not fitted to the floor so it might not live there normally)
Could this be the RF Modulator for the radio to convert from Jap frequencies to UK reception? That's the only thing I could think that would need the aerial lead running to it. I've got a UK car with the active set-up -don't have it on mine.
Dont know mate the car has an after market stereo fitted and it works fine
although not on all speakers (need some clever person to rewire it for me)
but like you said not much would need the aerial lead its a genuine Toyota fitment though albeit not in the correct place it seems
I have a 2nd aerial behind my head unit with no idea where it goes tbh.
I'll have a look at the gizmo behind the storage bucket and see if it plugs in there.
Just a thought and I could be completely wrong (probably am)
Arent those two fine lines on the windscreen something to do with a secondary aerial?
I wonder if that gizmo also acts as a signal boost of some sort for that part?
The control box for the premium-active system in my car is also behind the centre storage box and looks nothing like that. No idea what that could be??

i found this when fitting my sideskirts as mine is fitted behind the trim and its the control box for the the central locking remote i think, hence the aerial part.
