Drop links - educate me please

Post by Rob »

Right - having owned my MR2 for 3 years and done most bits myself its time I learnt what a few more bits do.

So what are drop links, what do they do, and is there any adavntage in uprating them on stock suspension???

Any educational descriptions welcome :D

Drop links are the bars that join the anti-roll bar at each end to the shock absorber. Wouldn't worry about changing them until they break or you uprate the ARB's themselves though TBH.

Actually just for the sake of clarity and to be totally correct the droplinks connect the ends of the anti-roll bar to the suspension strut.

No advantage in fitting 'uprated' or 'adjustable' ones.

unless yours have play in the ball joint and then they make annoying clunking sounds. The ones in www.twosrus.co.uk are cheaper than the toyota ones and easier to fit/remove as they do away with the need to use an hex key.
